Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método para generar y seleccionar plantas transgénicas que tienen producción aumentada de 2-oxoglutaramato en relación a una planta análoga de tipo natural o sin transformar, que comprende: (a) generar una pluralidad de plantas transgénicas por: introducir una transgén de glutamina fenilpiruvato transaminasa (GPT) en una pluralidad de células vegetales, en donde el transgén GPT codifica un polipéptido GPT que tiene (1) una secuencia de aminoácidos que tiene al menos 80% de identidad de secuencia con la SEQ ID NO: 2, SEQ ID NO: 9; SEQ ID NO:11, SEQ ID NO: 13, SEQ ID NO: 15; SEQ ID NO: 17; SEQ ID NO; 19 o SEQ ID NO: 21, y (2) actividad catalítica de GPT, introducir un transgén de glutamina sintetasa (GS) en la pluralidad de células vegetales, e n donde el transgén GS codifica una polipéptido GS que tiene (1) una secuencia de aminoácidos que tiene al menos 80% de identidad de secuencia con la SEQ ID NO: 4 o SEQ IDE NO: 7, Y (2) actividad catalítica de GS, y cultivar una pluralidad de plantas transgénicas a partir de la pluralidad de células vegetales transformadas con los transgenes GPT Y GS; (b) expresar el transgén GPT y el transgén GS en pluralidad de plantas transgénicas o descendencia de las mismas, en donde la pluralidad de plantas transgénica o la descendencia producen más 2-oxoglutaramato en relación a una planta análoga de tipo natural o sin transformar de las misma especie; (c) seleccionar a partir de la pluralidad de plantas transgénicas o la descendencia una planta transgénica; y (d) cosechar semillas a partir de la planta transgénica y seleccionar semillas que demuestren germinación aumentada en condiciones de alta salinidad.
