Abstract
Un dispositivo de control para un motor de combustión interna variable en relación de compresión se provee con un mecanismo variable en relación de compresión para cambiar una relación de compresión del motor de combustión interna de conformidad con una posición rotacional de un eje de control, y una unidad de detección de la relación de compresión que detecta una relación de compresión real. En una condición de operación del motor de combustión interna predeterminada (S11) tal como inmediatamente después de un arranque del motor de combustión interna, la operación de aprendizaje de la posición de referencia para la unidad de detección de la relación de compresión se lleva a cabo (S12) con el eje de control mecánicamente asegurado en una posición de referencia predeterminada. Durante la operación del motor de combustión interna, incluso cuando se pierde la relación de compresión real debido a un error de comunicación o similar (S13), o incluso cuando una diferencia entre la relación de compresión real y una relación de compresión objetivo se vuelve mayor que una desviación asumida debido a algunas anormalidades (S14), la operación de aprendizaje de la posición de referencia se lleva a cabo inmediatamente (S15), permitiendo por consiguiente un rápido retorno a un estado donde el control de la relación de compresión normal puede ser llevado a cabo.
