Abstract
Se proporciona una composición para aplicación a un sustrato metálico que comprende un sustrato acuoso y por lo menos un nitrato metálico y, preferiblemente, por lo menos un compuesto de metalato que comprende hexafluorozirconato, nitrato de zirconio y/o nitrato de ytrio. La composición además puede comprender aditivos que promueven la resistencia a la corrosión del sustrato metálico, o la adhesión de recubrimientos subsecuentes, tales como una o más sales de elementos de tierras raras; alantoína, polivinilpirrolidona, surfactantes y otros aditivos y co-inhibidores. También de proporciona un sustrato metálico tal como un sustrato de aluminio o una aleación de aluminio, recubierto con una composición de metalato de acuerdo con la presente invención. También se proporciona un proceso para preparar un recubrimiento en un sustrato metálico para mejorar la resistencia a la corrosión del sustrato o mejorar la adhesión de un recubrimiento subsecuente.
