Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a inter alia, Thraustochytrium y métodos y reactivos relevantes, que incluyen secuencias reguladoras modificadas de y/o operativas en Thraustochytrid o Thraustochytrium, marcadores seleccionables útiles para modificar microrganismos tales como Thraustochytrids, medios para mutagenizar microrganismos, nuevas cepas producidas por mutagénesis, y métodos y composiciones relacionadas con la producción de compuestos particulares en microrganismos. Un método para transformar una célula de Thraustochytrium, caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de: (a) proporcionar una célula de Thraustochytrium competente; (b) suministrar un ácido nucleico recombinante dentro de la célula competente de Thraustochytrium, en donde el ácido nucleico recombinante comprende un marcador seleccionable y un promotor de tubulina que es por lo menos 80% idéntico a la SEC ID NO: 10; y (c) cultivar la célula competente de Thraustochytrium en un medio de cultivo que contiene un agente de selección que reduce el crecimiento de células sin el marcador seleccionable.
