Abstract

Se describe un sistema y método de moldeo por inyección, asistido por ultrasonido para elaborar artículos conformados de manera precisa. Una fuente de energía ultrasónica es colocada para aplicar la energía vibracional a una cavidad del molde conectada a al menos una compuerta en comunicación de flujo con una fuente de (co)polímero fundido. El molde es calentado a una temperatura de 104-116°C, y el (co)polímero fundido es inyectado dentro de la cavidad del molde. Después del enfriamiento el molde hasta que el (co) polímero fundido dentro de la compuerta se ha solidificado, es aplicada la energía ultrasónica al molde sin volver a fundir el (co)polímero solidificado dentro de la compuerta, hasta que la temperatura incrementa hasta 116-122°C, con lo cual se almea sustancialmente las tensiones inducidas por el flujo. El molde es luego enfriado hasta que la temperatura disminuye a 101-107°C, y es después de esto calentado hasta que la temperatura se incremente a 116-122°C, con lo cual se alinean sustancialmente cualesquiera tensiones térmicamente inducidas. El molde es enfriado hasta que el (co)polímero fundido se ha solidificado, con lo cual se forma un elemento óptico de plástico, moldeado de precisión.
