Abstract

Un proceso de síntesis de un polvo de granate de itrio y aluminio (YAG); el proceso comprende introducir polvos de itria y sílice para formar una mezcla de polvos, en donde no se agrega alúmina a la mezcla de polvos; moler la mezcla de polvo en la presencia de un medio de molienda de alúmina y un disolvente para formar una suspensión de polvo; procesar la suspensión de polvo para formar un compacto verde; calcinar el compacto verde a una temperatura de 1100ºC a 1650ºC durante más de 8 horas en aire al 50% o menos de densidad teórica forma un compacto YAG de al menos 92% en peso de Y3Al5O12; moler el compacto de YAG, sin un medio de molienda, y el secado produce el polvo de YAG; los procesos incluyen además la introducción de un dopante a la mezcla de polvo para producir polvo de YAG dopado.
