Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un elemento de relleno estructurado para una columna para transferencia de masa y/o el intercambio de calor entre una fase de fluido pesado y una fase de fluido ligero, en donde el elemento de relleno estructurado comprende al menos dos capas de una rejilla que comprende unas aberturas, que están rodeadas y separadas unas de otras por unos elementos de separación, en donde al menos dos de las al menos dos capas están dispuestas en la dirección longitudinal paralelas y en contacto entre sí de tal manera que un espacio abierto que se extiende desde un extremo al extremo opuesto de las al menos dos capas se proporciona entre las mismas de tal manera que al menos una de la fase de fluido pesado y la fase de fluido ligero pueda fluir a través del mismo, en donde el ancho promedio de al menos el 50 % de los elementos de separación entre aberturas adyacentes es al menos 15 veces el espesor de material de capa y está entre el 70 % y el 125 % del diámetro hidráulico promedio de las aberturas adyacentes, y en donde la distancia máxima entre al menos dos de las al menos dos capas medidas en el plano que es perpendicular a la dirección longitudinal es al menos 4 veces mayor que el ancho promedio de los elementos de separación.
