Abstract

La presente invención describe una proteína ZmWAK-RLK relacionada con la resistencia a la mancha gris de la hoja, y un gen de codificación y aplicación de esta. La presente invención detalla una proteína obtenida a partir de una línea endogámica de maíz Y32, denominada ZmWAK-RLK, que es la proteína que se muestra en la secuencia 1 del listado de secuencias. Asimismo, se considera que una molécula de ácido nucleico para codificar la proteína ZmWAK-RLK se encuentra dentro del alcance de protección de la presente invención. Asimismo, la presente invención detalla un método para preparar una planta transgénica, que comprende la siguiente etapa: introducir dicha molécula de ácido nucleico en una planta de partida, obteniendo así una planta transgénica que tiene mejor resistencia a la mancha gris de la hoja. La presente invención detalla además un método de reproducción vegetal, que comprende la siguiente etapa: aumentar el contenido y/o actividad de la proteína ZmWAK-RLK en una planta de interés, aumentando así la resistencia de la planta de interés a la mancha gris de la hoja. La presente invención tiene gran valor cuando se aplica a la reproducción de maíz resistente a la mancha gris de la hoja.
