Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método para proporcionar una mayor temperatura de escape y reducir las emisiones en cargas parciales del motor en un motor diésel, en donde dicho motor comprende un cilindro con un pistón alternativo, un volumen de compresión variable (VCR) y al menos una válvula de escape y al menos una válvula de admisión, esta última provista de sincronización variable de válvulas (VVT). De acuerdo con el requisito de potencia del motor que prevalece, un sistema de control del motor determina cuándo dicha válvula de admisión debe abrirse y cerrarse, y el tamaño de dicho volumen de compresión a fin de lograr una temperatura de gas de escape suficientemente elevada para que pueda lograrse la purificación de gas de escape correcta. El método se caracteriza porque la presión del cilindro durante la carrera de expansión se maneje por el sistema de control del motor por medio de funciones VCR y VVT, tal que dicha presión alcance los niveles atmosféricos o subatmosféricos en o antes del punto muerto inferior, a cargas del motor por debajo del 25% de la carga máxima del motor, por lo que la válvula de admisión se abre para permitir que el aire se mezcle con los gases de combustión. La invención también se refiere a un dispositivo correspondiente y un motor diésel que comprende dicho dispositivo.
