Abstract
La presente descripción proporciona un proceso para producir trifluoroyodometano, el proceso comprende proporcionar una corriente de reactivos que comprende yoduro de hidrógeno y al menos un haluro de trifluoroacetilo seleccionado del grupo que consiste en cloruro de trifluoroacetilo, fluoruro de trifluoroacetilo, bromuro de trifluoroacetilo, y combinaciones de estos, hacer reaccionar la corriente de reactivos en presencia de un primer catalizador a una primera temperatura de reacción de aproximadamente 25 °C a aproximadamente 400 °C para producir una corriente de productos intermediarios que comprende yoduro de trifluoroacetilo, y hacer reaccionar la corriente de productos intermediarios en presencia de un segundo catalizador a una segunda temperatura de reacción de aproximadamente 200 °C a aproximadamente 600 °C para producir una corriente de productos finales que comprende el trifluoroyodometano.
