Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una composición para uso como adhesivo, pintura, revestimiento, resina, apresto (de superficie), composite, gel o hidrogel, comprendiendo dicha composición celulosa microfibrilada ("MFC"). Además de la celulosa microfibrilada, estas composiciones comprenden al menos un disolvente, dicho disolvente preferentemente comprende o consiste en agua, y al menos un compuesto que es (A) capaz de polimerizar, o que ya ha sido polimerizado parcial o totalmente, y que (B) tiene al menos dos grupos disponibles para el enlace de hidrógeno, preferentemente grupos OH, que son capaces de reticularse con al menos un grupo funcional de la celulosa microfibrilada. En estas composiciones, la celulosa microfibrilada funciona principalmente como un agente de reticulación (aunque no se excluye que la celulosa microfibrilada tenga además otras funcionalidades, como actuar como modificador de viscosidad y/o aditivo tixotrópico), integrando el compuesto que (A) es capaz de polimerizar o que ya se ha polimerizado parcial o totalmente, y que (B) tiene al menos dos grupos disponibles para el enlace de hidrógeno, en una red tridimensional similar a un gel.
