Abstract
Un dispositivo middleware o software puede colocarse en comunicación con uno o más instrumento de análisis y un sistema de información de laboratorio; como las muestras se recolectan de pacientes y analizan con los instrumentos de análisis, los resultados del análisis pasan a través del middleware y son analizados en el contexto con otros datos, tales como historial de paciente, historial del instrumento de análisis y resultados de análisis desde otros análisis de la muestra, para determinar si un resultado particular es aceptable, si se necesita volver a analizar, si la recolección de muestra adicional o análisis se necesita y si el análisis ordenado actualmente es aún necesario; cuando el middleware determina una necesidad para análisis adicional o reanálisis éste puede crear automáticamente órdenes para tal reanálisis para reducir el retraso en la revisión del manual de los resultados de análisis.
