Abstract
La presente descripción proporciona productos laminados de vidrio térmicamente aislantes que mitigan o evitan la pérdida de calor desde cavidades calentadas. La presente descripción también proporciona un dispositivo de calentamiento, tal como un horno, que incluye productos laminados de vidrio, aislantes, como difusores, para proteger un elemento funcional. En algunas modalidades, los productos laminados de vidrio térmicamente aislantes tienen un primer sustrato, un segundo sustrato y una capa de revestimiento no uniforme, poco o no conductora, que forma un enlace químico con al menos una superficie interna de los sustratos. La capa de revestimiento puede tener un espesor de aproximadamente 0.0254 cm (0.010 pulgadas) o menos y forma un patrón que hace contacto con aproximadamente el 30% o menos de al menos una superficie interna de un sustrato. La capa de revestimiento también forma una pluralidad de cavidades selladas de moléculas de gas entre los sustratos. Puesto que hay una pequeña cantidad de moléculas de gas en cada cavidad, se reduce al mínimo la transferencia de calor por convección entre los sustratos, reduciendo al mínimo de esta manera la pérdida de calor a través de los productos laminados al ambiente circundante.
