Abstract
Una prótesis escleral (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700) ejemplificativa incluye un primer extremo libre y un segundo extremo libre (102-104, 202-204, 302-304, 402-404. 502-504, 602-604. 702-704), cada uno más ancho que la porción media de la prótesis escleral. Múltiples primeras porciones (112aa-112b, 208aa-108b, 312aa-312b, 406aa-406b, 506aa-506b, 606aa-606b, 706aa-706b) forman el primer extremo de la prótesis escleral. Las primeras porciones están separadas a lo largo de por lo menos la mitad de la longitud de la prótesis escleral. Múltiples segundas porciones (206aa-206b, 310aa-310b) pueden formar el segundo extremo de la prótesis escleral y las segundas porciones pueden estar separadas a lo largo de menos que un cuarto de la longitud de la prótesis escleral. Un dispositivo (900= de implantación se puede utilizar para facilitar la implantación de una prótesis escleral. El dispositivo de implantación incluye una primera porción (906) de extremo configurada para ser insertada dentro del túnel escleral del ojo.
