Abstract
Un sistema de vehículo incluye un sensor configurado para emitir una señal de impacto y un dispositivo de procesamiento programado para calcular una curva de aceleración a partir de la señal de impacto, calcular una curva de velocidad a partir de la curva de aceleración, determinar un valor umbral basado, al menos en parte, en una velocidad del vehículo, y comparar la curva de aceleración con el valor umbral. El dispositivo de procesamiento además está programado para emitir una señal de control para desplegar una contramedida de protección del peatón si la curva de aceleración excede el valor umbral.
