Abstract

El reductor de velocidad está compuesto por un conjunto de alta velocidad y un conjunto de baja velocidad: el primero consta de un tornillo impulsor, con su eje y rodamientos de soporte; el segundo consta de una cadena roscada sin fin montada sobre ruedas dentadas con sus ejes y rodamientos de soporte. La cadena roscada consta de una pluralidad de cuerpos roscados, montados en los pernos extendidos de dos cadenas sin fin paralelas, de rodillos o silenciosas. El tornillo impulsor, ubicado en un tramo recto de la cadena roscada, impulsa a la unidad de baja velocidad, aplicando la fuerza en el centroide de la superficie roscada de la cadena roscada. El tornillo impulsor puede ser de rodillos, o de bolas, o un tornillo sinfín. Puesto que el tornillo impulsor puede ser tan largo como la distancia entre centros de las ruedas dentadas, y los cuerpos roscados abrazan al tornillo impulsor en un arco mayor que 180°, la superficie de contacto es grande y la capacidad de carga es elevada. Con los dos primeros tornillos mencionados el contacto es rodante y la eficiencia es alta, tan alta que permite que la invención se pueda utilizar también como amplificador de velocidad.
