Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para producir ácidos grasos de carbono-20 a partir de un aceite de semilla vegetal, el proceso comprende: a) proporcionar un aceite de semilla vegetal que comprende ácidos grasos, en donde los ácidos grasos incluyen ácidos grasos de carbono-18; y b) alargar los ácidos grasos por dos átomos de carbono para producir una composición que comprende ácidos grasos de carbono-20.
