Abstract

Un adsorbente de fosfato en base a maghemita o maghemita/magnetita que comprende (i) un núcleo de óxido de hierro que comprende una estructura cristalina de óxido de hierro espinela invertida, (ii) un recubrimiento seleccionado de hidratos de carbono monoméricos, en particular monosacáridos o disacáridos, alditoles, o mezclas de los mismos, y/o (iii) un excipiente farmacéutico seleccionado de hidratos de carbono poliméricos, en donde el adsorbente de fosfato tiene la forma de nanopartículas con un tamaño de partícula del núcleo de óxido de hierro (i) menor de 20 nm. La presente invención además se relaciona con un método para la producción de un adsorbente de fosfato en base a maghemita o maghemita/magnetita, para composiciones farmacéuticas que comprenden el adsorbente de fosfato, y para usos médicos de las mismas, especialmente para la prevención y/o tratamiento de hiperfosfatemia.
