Abstract

Ciertas modalidades ejemplares se refieren a un artículo revestido que incluye por lo menos una capa reflectora de radiación infrarroja (IR) de un material tal como plata o similares en un recubrimiento de baja-E y a métodos para hacer el mismo. En ciertos casos, por lo menos una capa del recubrimiento es de o incluye níquel y/o titanio (por ejemplo, NiXTiYOZ). La provisión de una capa que incluye níquel-titanio y/o un óxido de los mismos puede permitir que una capa que se utiliza tenga buena adhesión a la capa reflectora de IR y absorción reducida de luz visible (dando por resultado un artículo revestido con una transmisión visible más alta). Cuando una capa que incluye óxido de níquel-titanio se proporciona directamente encima de y/o debajo de la capa reflectora de IR (por ejemplo, como una capa barrera), esto puede dar por resultado una durabilidad química y mecánica mejorada. De esta manera, la transmisión visible se puede mejorar si se desea, sin comprometer la durabilidad; o, la durabilidad simplemente se puede incrementar.
