Abstract
Un proceso para preparar un poliol de poliéster-poliéter híbrido, en donde el proceso comprende contactar un componente que contiene un grupo carboxilo y un epóxido, opcionalmente en la presencia de uno o más de un catalizador de cianuro de metal doble, un catalizador super-ácido, una sal de metal de un catalizador super-ácido y/o un catalizador de amina terciaria, bajo condiciones tales que se forme poliol de poliéster-poliéter híbrido. El poliol de poliéster-poliéter híbrido ofrece las ventajas tanto de las funcionalidades de éster como de éter, cuando se utiliza en una formulación de poliuretano, para mejorar de esta manera las propiedades físicas. El proceso da como resultado productos que tienen una polidispersidad estrecha, un número ácido e instauración de bajo nivel, y una formación de subproducto reducida, particularmente cuando se emplea el catalizador de cianuro de metal doble.
