Abstract
La presente invención está dirigida a una estructura compuesta hemostática que tiene un sustrato de tela o tela no tejida bioabsorbible que tiene al menos dos áreas de superficie principales opuestas y una película polimérica no porosa continua laminada en una superficie principal de ese sustrato; el sustrato de tela bioabsorbible puede ser un polisacárido oxidado y/o el sustrato de tela no tejida puede estar hecho de polímeros derivados de materiales no celulósicos bioabsorbibles; la película polimérica no porosa continua puede ser un polímero bioabsorbible; la presente invención se refiere, además, a un método para proporcionar hemostasia mediante la aplicación de una estructura compuesta descrita en la presente invención sobre el sitio de una herida que necesita un dispositivo hemostático, en donde una superficie principal del sustrato sin la capa de película se aplica sobre el sitio de la herida.
