Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con un poste terminal para una barrera, en donde el poste incluye: - una porción vertical; caracterizada porque la porción vertical tiene una abertura situada de manera que, cuando está en uso: la abertura está ubicada en una región de la porción vertical por encima de una porción que conecta con el suelo de la porción vertical; y en donde a un lado de la abertura se encuentra ubicado un miembro de refuerzo transversal que incluye una ranura para recibir un cable; y en donde hay, por lo menos, una ranura o un par de muescas ubicadas bajo la abertura, la cual o las cuales forma(n) una línea de caída predeterminada, a lo largo de la cual el poste se deformará, al recibir un impacto sustancialmente en línea, que causa que el miembro transversal se mueva para liberar dicho cable y en donde la abertura está dimensionada para permitir que el extremo terminal del cable quede formalmente retenido por la ranura para pasar a través de ella.
