Método para mejorar varias características de crecimiento de las plantas mediante modulación de la expresión en una planta de un ácido nucleico que codifica un polipéptido tipo PRE (resistencia a paclobutrazol). Plantas que tiene una expresión modulada de un ácido nucleico que codifica un polipéptido tipo PRE, donde dichas plantas tienen características de crecimiento mejoradas con respecto a las correspondientes plantas de tipo silvestre u otras plantas de control. Construcciones que son útiles en los métodos de la invención. Método para mejorar varios rasgos relacionados con el rendimiento mediante la modulación de la expresión en una planta de un ácido nucleico que codifica una SCE1 (enzima 1 que se conjuga con SUMO). Plantas que tienen expresión modulada de un ácido nucleico que codifica SCE1, donde dichas plantas tienen rasgos mejorados relacionados con el rendimiento con respecto a las correspondientes plantas de tipo silvestre u otras plantas de control. Ácidos nucleicos que codifican SCE1 desconocidos hasta el momento y construcciones que los comprenden, útiles en la realización de los métodos de la invención. Método para mejorar varios rasgos relacionados con el rendimiento mediante la modulación de la expresión en una panta de un ácido nucleico que codifica un YEF1 (factor 1 mejorador del rendimiento). Plantas que tienen expresión modulada de un ácido nucleico que codifica un YEF1, donde dichas plantas tienen rasgos mejorados relacionados con el rendimiento con respecto a las correspondientes plantas de tipo silvestre u otras plantas de control. Construcciones que son útiles en los métodos de la invención. Métodos para mejorar varios rasgos relacionados con el rendimiento mediante la modulación de la expresión en una planta de un ácido nucleico que codifica una glutaredoxina de subgrupo III (Grx). Plantas que tienen expresión modulada de un ácido nucleico que codifica una Grx de subgrupo III, donde dichas plantas tienen rasgos mejorados relacionados con el rendimiento con respecto a las correspondientes plantas de tipo silvestre u otras plantas de control. Construcciones que son útiles en los métodos de la invención. Método para alterar la proporción entre raíces y brotes en plantas mediante la modulación de la expresión en una planta de un ácido nucleico que codifica una Sister de proteína FT o su homólogo. Plantas que tienen expresión modulada de un ácido nucleico que codifica una Sister de proteína FT o su homólogo, en donde dichas plantas han alterado la proporción entre raíz y brote con respecto a las correspondientes plantas de tipo silvestre u otras plantas de control. Construcciones que son útiles en los métodos de la invención.
