Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para tratar aguas residuales que incluye los pasos de: un paso de contacto, en donde las aguas residuales hacen contacto con las bacterias retenidas en una superficie de soporte y la concentración de oxígeno disuelto de las aguas residuales se mantiene a 2.0 mg/ml o menos. Un paso de aireación, en donde se hace pasar gas a través de las aguas residuales que han pasado a través del paso de contacto y la concentración de oxígeno disuelto de las aguas residuales se reduce conforme las aguas residuales pasan a través del paso de aireación; un paso de sedimentación, en donde las aguas residuales que han pasado a través del paso del paso de aireación se separan sustancialmente tratada y lodo; y un paso de reciclado de lodo, en donde el lodo del paso de sedimentación se hace pasar al paso de contacto. La invención también se refiere a una unidad de procesamiento en la cual se puede operar el proceso mencionado anteriormente.
