Abstract

La invención provee una resma absorbente de agua producida por polimerización en suspensión de fase inversa, que es reducida en el residuo en la misma de hidrocarburo de petróleo usado en la polimerización en suspensión de fase inversa como el medio de dispersión y por lo tanto disminuida en el olor de hidrocarburo de petróleo generado cuando la resma absorbe agua y que es adecuada para usarse en productos sanitarios; absorbentes y artículos absorbentes; muy particularmente, una resma absorbente de agua obtenida por polimerización en suspensión de fase inversa de una solución acuosa de un monómero etilénicamente insaturado soluble en agua en un medio de dispersión de hidrocarburo de petróleo en presencia de un agente tensoactivo, en donde el residuo del medio de dispersión de hidrocarburo de petróleo en la resma es 2,000 ppm o menor; y absorbentes y artículos absorbentes hechos al usar la resma.
