Abstract

Se describen métodos para controlar la durabilidad y/o la cantidad de aire en formulaciones de concreto que incluyen combinar cemento, agua y opcionalmente agregados, mezclas y/o aditivos para formar una mezcla de cemento; y añadir partículas pre-infladas a la mezcla de cemento para formar una formulación de concreto. Las partículas pre-infladas tienen un diámetro de partícula promedio de 0.2 mm a 3 mm, una densidad global de 0.015 g/cc a 0.35 g/cc, una relación de aspecto de 1 a 3 y una superficie exterior continua lisa. La formulación de concreto curada y endurecida tiene típicamente un módulo dinámico relativo de por lo menos 70% determinado de acuerdo con el procedimiento A de ASTM C666 (2003). La cantidad de aire en el concreto se incrementa típicamente sobre la cantidad de aire en formulaciones similares que no contienen partículas pre-infladas, según se determina de acuerdo con ASTM C231, con base en el porcentaje en volumen de partículas pre-infladas. Las formulaciones de concreto se pueden usar para hacer artículos.
