Abstract
Una reaccion facilitada con base para la produccion de hidrogeno a partir de biomasa o componente(s) de la misma. El hidrogeno se produce de una reaccion de materia organica que ocurre naturalmente con una base para formar un compuesto de bicarbonato o carbonato como un subproducto. Las reacciones que producen hidrogeno facilitadas con base son termodinamicamente mas espontaneas que las reacciones de reformacion de tipo convencionales y son capaces de producir gas hidrogeno en condiciones de reaccion menos extremas que las reacciones de reformacion de tipo convencionales. Los reactivos preferidos son biomasa, componentes de biomasa y mezclas de componentes de biomasa. Especialmente preferidas son las reacciones facilitadas con base en las cuales el hidrogeno se produce de carbohidratos o mezclas de carbohidratos, que incluyen monosacaridos, disacaridos, polisacaridos y celulosa. Las presentes reacciones pueden ocurrir en la fase liquida o solida.
