Abstract

Un sello aislante comprende un elemento de estator (17) para colocacion en el estator de equipo giratorio y un elemento de rotor (14) para colocacion sobre una flecha giratoria del equipo giratorio; estos dos elementos proveen superficies adyacentes respectivas (82/83) y un dispositivo de apagado estatico (81) se acopla en ambas superficies adyacentes cuando el elemento de rotor es estatico y se desacopla de una o mas de dichas superficies cuando el elemento de rotor es dinamico; en un aspecto de la presente invencion, por lo menos una de dichas superficies esta inclinada hacia el eje longitudinal en un angulo mayor o menor a 90 degree C; en un aspecto adicional de la presente invencion, el dispositivo de apagado estatico comprende un elemento de sellado anular elastico (354) y un elemento auxiliar (357), que se mueve entre una primera posicion, cuando el elemento de rotor es estatico, en la cual dicho elemento auxiliar comprime dicho elemento anular elastico en acoplamiento con ambas superficies, y un segunda posicion en la cual se reduce la compresion en dicho elemento elastico, con lo cual el elemento anular elastico se desacopla de una o mas de dichas superficies de rotor y estator cuando el rotor es dinamico.
