Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un empaque para torre, para el contacto vapor-líquido, caracterizado porque incluye una pluralidad de hojas de material corrugado, las hojas se disponen generalmente en forma vertical y paralela entre sí con las corrugaciones de hojas adyacentes entrecruzadas entre sí, las hojas se proporcionan con una pluralidad de orificios para efectuar tanto la distribución de líquido como de vapor en el empaque y, los orificios se disponen en las hojas con el espaciamiento horizontal entre los orificios adyacentes no mayor que aproximadamente 5 veces la extensión horizontal de un orificio y en ningún caso mayor a aproximadamente 5 mm, la extensión horizontal de los orificios no es mayor a aproximadamente 2 mm.
