Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un metodo para formar un diafragma permeable de electrolito, sobre una estructura foraminosa, para usarse en una pila electrolítica; el metodo comprende: establecer una suspensión acuosa introduciendo en un medio acuoso, como un material de fibra en partículas, una fibra compuesta orgánica e inorgánica, no isotrópica, que comprende, en combinación adherente, desde aproximadamente 5 por ciento a aproximadamente 70 por ciento en peso de fibra de polímero halocarbono orgánico junto con desde aproximadamente 30 por ciento a aproximadamente 95 por ciento en peso de partículas inorgánicas muy finamente divididas, impactadas en la fibra de polímero, estando el material de fibra en la suspensión junto con suficiente agente espesador, para proporcionar cuando menos aproximadamente 0.5 gramos por litro de agente espesador en la suspensión acuosa; hacer pasar la suspensión a traves de un substrato foraminoso para depositar en el mismo material es un partículas en la forma de un diafragma; secar el diafragma depositado y calentar el mismo para permitir que se funda entre sí el polímero orgánico de las partículas compuestas.
