Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un fundidor de vidrio caracterizado porque comprende un cuerpo fundidor que define una cámara de contención para recibir lotes de materia prima, un elemento de fundición en la cámara para calentar los lotes de materia prima a un estado de vidrio fundido, una salida para el cuerpo fundidor, que define una trayectoria de flujo de salida y que tiene una abertura de salida de un tamaño predeterminado, guías dentro de la cámara de contención pero arriba de la salida y aisladas de la salida para dirigir el flujo de vidrio fundido a la salida, enfriamiento posicionado para enfriar el vidrio en las guías, una fuente de energía eléctrica que comunica directamente con la salida de manera que la salida actúe como una resistencia y caliente de acuerdo con la cantidad de energía eléctrica proporcionada por la fuente de energía a la salida, y un control de temperatura, que comunica con la salida y la fuente de energía, para controlar la cantida de calor acumulada en la salida para controlar la viscosidad del vidrio fundido a lo largo de la trayectoria del flujo de salida y pasando a través de la abertura de salida, por lo cual se usa el calentamiento resistivo de la salida sin alguna válvula de restricción del flujo para controlar el régimen de flujo de salida del vidrio fundido desde el cuerpo fundidor.
