Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para producir glucósido de metilo de calidad industrial, estable al color con un contenido reducido de impurezas decolorantes derivadas del procesamiento, en particular glucosa no reaccionada que comprende hacer reaccionar un exceso de metanol con glucosa a temperatura elevada con exclusión en cuanto sea posible de agua y en presencia de un catalizador ácido caracterizado porque la glucosa se hace reacccionar en dos etapas con metanol y por lo menos un alcohol de punto de ebullición superior para proporcionar una mezcla de glucósido que contiene por lo menos 60 p/p por ciento de glucósido de metilo y a lo sumo 0,3 p/p por ciento de glucosa medido como valor ED, teniendo dicho alcohol de punto de ebullición superior un punto de ebullición más elevado que el del agua o su azeótropo con agua y, si está también presente un arrastrador inerte, de cualquier azeótropo formado a partir del arrastrador y agua y/o alcohol de punto de ebullición superior que comprende o bien a) hacer reaccionar en la primera etapa glucosa con metanol para proporcionar una mezcla de producto de reacción que contiene a lo sumo 20 p/p por ciento de glucosa, en base a la sustancia seca y subsiguientemente opcionalmente después de la separación de metanol no reaccionado y agua, hacer reaccionar en la segunda etapa la mezcla de producto de reacción con alcohol de punto de ebullición superior hasta que el contenido de glucosa de la mezcla de reacción medido como valor ED está por debajo de 0,3 p/p por ciento en base a la sustancia seca o b) hacer reaccionar glucosa en la primera etapa con alcohol de punto de ebullición superior separándose agua en forma continua, en particular por destilación azeotrópica, hasta que el contenido de glucosa de la mezcla de reacción medida como valor ED está por debajo de 0,2 p/p por ciento en base a la sustancia seca, y en la segunda etapa hacer reaccionar dicho producto de reacción después de la separación de alcohol de alto punto de ebullición no reaccionado con metanol hasta que el contenido de glucósido de metilo de la mezcla de producto de reacción sea de por lo menos 60 p/p por ciento en base a la sustancia seca.
