Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para fabricar una fibra d epoli-p-fenilen tereftalamida que tiene un módulo mayor de 1100 gramos por denier y una tenacidad mayor que 18 gramos por denier y un Indice de Cristalinidad de cuando menos 70 por ciento, el polímero de la mencionada fibra tiene una viscosidad inherente de cuanod menos 5.4, caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de: exponer una fibra húmeda de poli-p-fenilen tereftalamida que tiene en la misma de 20 a 100 por ciento de agua absorbida basado en el peso de la fibra seca y que tiene una acidez menor de 60 y una basicidad menor que 10, a una atmósfera calentada: a 500 y 660 grados durante 0.25 a 12 segundos, en donde la fibra, durante la exposición, es sometida a una tensión de 1.5 a 4 gramos por denier.
