Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a mejoras en aparato para fundir una banda metálica que tiene una pluralidad de porciones diferentes ligadas con aleación metalúrgicamente a lo largo de la extensión longitudinal de la banda; que consiste de: un primer crisol que tiene una cavidad interna para recibir y retener el metal derretido y una boquilla a través de la cual se suministra una primera corriente de metal derretido desde la cavidad hacia una superficie de fundición colocada a distancia dentro de aproximadamente 3.05 milímetros desde la boquilla y que es movible más allá de la boquilla a una velocidad de 60.96 a 3048 metros superficiales lineales por minuto; caracterizados por cuando menos un crisol adicional que tiene una cavidad interna para recibir y retener el metal derretido y una boquilla a través de la cual por lo menos se suministra una corriente diferente adicional del metal derretido desde la cavidad hacia la superficie de fundición colocada a distancia de aproximadamente 3.05 milímetros desde la boquilla, teniendo el crisol adicional colocada la boquilla de manera tal que una porción de orilla periférica de por lo menos una corriente adicional se pone en contacto con una porción de orilla periférica de un metal diferente adyacente para crear un ligazón con aleación metalúrgica entre las mismas durante la operación de fundición.
