Abstract

The invention relates to electrochemistry, namely to an electrode for electrolytic production of hydrogen and a process for manufacturing thereof.The electrode, according to the invention, consists of a conductive substrate made of a foam-copper alloy with a coefficient of porosity of 0.05...0.1 and an active layer of nickel-rhenium alloy.The process for manufacturing the electrode includes the deposition on the conductive substrate of an active layer, containing nickel sulphate, potassium perrhenate, potassium pyrophosphate, thallium nitrate and dimethylaminoborane, with subsequent leaching of boron, the coating deposition being carried out at a solution flow rate of 1...3 cm/min, the temperature of 70...80°C and pH = 10...11, with the ratio of surface area to solution volume of 0.8...1.2 dm2/L, and leaching of boron is carried out by treatment in a solution of sodium hydroxide and sodium phosphate at the temperature of 130...145°C during 1...3 min.
