Abstract

The invention refers to medicine, particularly ophthalmology and may be used for the treatment of senile cataract.The device, according to the invention, includes an aluminum plate of round form with a diameter of 18 mm and a thickness of 0.5 mm, in the centre of the plate it is made a hole with the diameter of 11 mm.The method for the treatment of senile cataract consists in that it is made the topic and regional anesthesia, it is applied the blepharostat, it is fixed the superior rectus muscle, it is made an incision of conjunctiva in the region of limb at the level of 10.00…13.00 o'clock, it is applied the said device on cornea and it is made an incision of 1/2 of the thickness of cornea at the level of 10.00…13.00 o'clock about the device hole contour, then it is removed and it is opened the anterior chamber at the level of 11.00 o'clock, it is carried out the anterior capsulorhexis, afterwards it is carried out the complete incision of cornea, it is removed the lens nucleus and mass, it is implanted the artificial lens, then it is sutured the cornea and conjunctiva.
