Abstract

본 발명은 LCD용 TAB 패키지 실장방법에 관한것으로서, LCD상에 실장되는 TAB 패키지들간의 피치를 투명전극 단자의피치와 일치하도록 테이프 캐리어 상에 일렬로 형성하고, TAB 패키지를 전기 검사하여 불량품을 절단하여 제거하고, 다시 실장에 적합한 갯수, 예를들어 적어도 두개 이상으로 절단하며, 상기와 같이 절단된 단위 TAB 패키지들을 투명전극 단자들상에 정렬한 후, 그에 적합한 마운트 헤드로 압착시켜 투명전극 단자들과 금속패턴들을 전기적으로 연결시켰으므로, 한번의 실장공정으로 다수개의 TAB 패키지를 실장할 수 있어 LCD모듈 제작시 많은 시간을 차지하는 TAB 패키지 실장공정 시간을 단축하고 정렬을 위한 위치 인식이 용이하여 공정수율 및 소자 동작의 신뢰성을 향상시킬 수 있다.

Claims (8)

  1. 액정표시장치의 상, 하측 유리기판에 형성되어 있는 투명전극 단자에 다수개의 탭 패키지가 실장되는 액정표시장치용 탭 패키지 실장방법에 있어서, 상기 투명전극 단자들간의 피치와 동일한 피치를 갖도록 테이프 케리어 상에 일렬로 형성되어 있는 탭 패키지들을 실장에 적합한 적어도 두개 이상의 단위로 절단하는 공정과, 상기 절단되어 있는 단위 탭 패키지들을 투명전극 단자 상에 정렬시키는 공정과, 상기 정렬되어 있는 투명전극 단자와 금속패턴들을 압착하여 연결하는 공정을 구비하는 액정표시장치용 탭 패키지 실장방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 탭 패키지의 절단 공정전에 탭 패키지의 불량검사를 실시하여 불량품을 제거한 상태에서 실장 갯수를 결정하고, 탭 패키지를 실장 갯수에 맞게 절단하는 것을 특징으로하는 액정표시장치용 탭 패키지 실장방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 한번에 정렬되는 탭 패키지의 수가 상기 액정표시장치의 일측에 실장되는 탭 패키지의 수와 같거나 적어도 두개 이상인 것을 특징으로하는 액정표시장치용 탭 패키지 실장방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 탭 패키지와 액정표시장치간이 전기적 연결을 이방성 도전 필름을 사용하는 것을 특징으로하는 액정표시장치용 탭 패키지 실장방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 테이프 캐리어 상에 일렬로 형성되어있는 탭 패키지의 절단 공정전에 금속패턴의 일면에 이방성 도전 필름에 부착시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치용 탭 패키지 실장방법.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 이방성 도전 필름의 타측에는 보호막이 부착되어 있어 상기 탭 패키지의 절단 공정후에 제거하는 것을 특징으로하는 액정표시장치용 탭 패키지 실장방법.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 투명전극 단자와 금속패턴의 사이에 금속 범프를 개재시켜 열압착시키는 것을 특징으로하는 액정표시장치용 탭 패키지 실장방법.
  8. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 압착 공정시 한번의 압착 공정으로 하나 또는 적어도 두개 이상의 탭 패키지를 압착하는 것을 특징으로하는 액정표시장치용 탭 패키지 실장방법.
