Description

복합 슬라이드 부재
제1도는 본 발명품 및 종래품의 다공질 금속층의 노출 정도를 나타내는 그래프이고,
제2도는 본 발명품 및 종래품의 슬라이딩 표면의 다공질 금속과 복합합성 수지의 혼합물의 상태를 나타내는 사진이다.
본 발명은 경계윤활(슬라이딩 면의 돌기부에서 고체접촉이 일어나서 마모 및 소착(燒着)이 일어나기 쉬운 윤활 상태를 의미)및 고갈윤활(오일 결핍으로 고체접촉을 하여 마모가 수명을 결정하게 되는 상태를 의미)하에서 비소작성이 우수한 복합 슬라이드 부재에 관한 것이다.
경제윤활, 고갈윤활 하에서 사용되는 종래의 복합 슬라이드 부재는 이면금속(裏面金屬), 이면금속의 표면에 소결된 다공질 금속층 및 다공질 금속층에 함침되고 이 다공질 금속층의 표면에 피복된 함침 피복층으로 이루어진다. 이러한 함침 피복층 조성물의 예를 들면, 폴리테트라플루오로에틸렌(이하 "PTFE"라 한다)- 20용량% Pb, PTFE-20용량% 비표면적이 큰 Pb, PTFE-10용량% 테트라플루오로에틸렌·퍼플루오로알킬비닐 에테르 공중합체(이하, "PEA"라 한다)-용량%의 비표면적이 큰 Pb등이 포함된다.
또, 특허공개 (소)59-194128호 공보에는 이들의 복합 슬라이드 부재의 표면층이 운전초기에 벗겨져서 베어링 틈새가 커지는 것을 피하기 위해 미리 기계가공을 함으로써 슬라이딩 표면에 다공질 금속층과 함침피복 조성물층의 양방을 산재하여 노출시킨 복합 슬라이드부재를 사용하였다.
그러나, 상기 종래 기술에서는 복합 슬라이드 부재의 표면을 기계가공하는 동안, 표면으로부터의 절삭량이 증가하게 되면 급격하게 다공질 금속층의 노출이 증가하게 되어 경계윤활 및/또는 고갈윤활하에 상대축과 소착을 일으킨다는 문제가 있다.
본 발명이 해결하려고 하는 과제는 표면으로부터의 절삭량이 증가하는 경우에도 다공질 금속층의 노출을 억제하고, 내마모성을 손상시킴이 없이 비소착성이 우수한 함침 합성수지층이 노출을 어떻게 확보할 수 있는가를 알아내는데 있다. 더욱 상술하면, 본 발명의 목적은 내마모성을 손상시키지 않고, 비소착 특성이 우수한 복합 슬라이드 부재를 제공하는데 있다.
본 발명은 종래의 과제를 해결하는 수단으로서, 이론 밀도의 20 내지 40%인 낮은 겉보기 밀도를 갖는 금속본체를 소결하는 것에 의해 얻어진 다공도 50 내지 80%의 소결 금속층에, 복합 합성수지를 합침시킴으로써 상기 문제점을 해결할 수 있다는 것을 알게 되었다.
더욱 상술하면, 본 발명은 이면금속(back metal)과, 이면금속의 표면에 겉보기 밀도가 이론밀도의 20 내지 40%인 금속분말을 가압하지 않고 소결시킨, 다공도 50 내지 80%의 다공질 금속층의 공극에, 합성수지 조성물을 함침 피복하여 이루어진 슬라이드층을 포함하고, 축과의 접촉면에 다공질 금속층과 합성수지층 양방이 산재하여 노출하도록 형성한 것을 특징으로 하는 복합 슬라이드 부재에 관한 것이다.
여기에서 사용되는 이면금속은 강 또는 강 이외의 금속, 예를 들면 스테인레스강 또는 청동 등의 구리계 합금이 사용된다. 또 이면금속과 다공질 금속층과의 사이에는 도금이 되어 있지 않거나, 또는 구리도금 또는 이의 합금 도금이 제공된다. 또 이면금속상에 형성된 다공질 금속층은 청동, 납 청동 등이 동계 합금 또는 그외의 금속, 이들의 합금을 사용한다.
한편, 합성수지 조성물로는, 종래 기술에서 나타난 함침 조성물 이외에, POM(폴리아세탈), PEEK(폴리에테르에테르케톤), PF(페놀), PI(폴리이미드), PAI(폴리아미드이미드) 등의 합성수지도 합성수지 조성물(함침 피복층 조성물)로서 사용될 수 있다. 또, 마찰계수를 낮추기 위해 상기 합성수지에 흑연, MoS2등의 고체윤활체를 도입하여도 좋고, 또한 내마모성을 향상시키기 위해 PFA, FEP등의 용융 불소수지, 금속산화물, 금속불화물, CF등의 섬유재료, SiC등의 세라믹 분말 등을 첨가해도 좋다.
상기한 구성에 의해 본 발명의 복합 슬라이드 부재는, 금속분말의 겉보기밀도를 이론밀도의 20 내지 40%로 작게 함으로써 금속이 소결된 경우, 다공도가 50 내지 80%로 커지게 되어 복합 합성수지 조성물의 충전 또는 함침량이 증가하게 되고, 표면으로부터의 절삭량이 증가하는 경우에도 복합 합성수지량이 증가하기 때문에 다공질 금속층의 노출을 억제하고 비소착성이 우수한 복합 합성수지층을 균형 있게 노출시킴으로써, 상대축과의 소착을 방지한 것이다.
여기에서 겉보기밀도를 이론밀도의 20 내지 40%로 한정한 이유는 20%이하가 되면 내마모 특성이 현저하게 나빠지게 되고, 또 40%이상이 되면 표면으로부터의 절삭량이 증가하게 되어 다공질 금속층의 노출정도가 극단적으로 증가되기 때문이다.
[실시예 1]
이하, 본 발명의 실시예를 구체적으로 설명한다.
구리 도금을 한 구리이면 금속(JIS SPCC)(구리도금 막두께 7 내지 10㎛)상에 각기 표 1에 표시한 겉보기밀도를 갖는 금속분말을 산포하여 0.3㎜ 두께의 청동 또는 납청동 분말의 층을 형성시킨 다음, 760 내지 860℃의 온도에서 약 10분, 비산화성 분위기에서 다공질 구조로 소결하고, 50 내지 80%의 다공도[소결된 물질의 용적에 대한 공극의 비(%)]의 다공질 소결층을 얻었다. 그후, 표 1의 시료 No. 1내지 8에 나타낸 함침 피복용 복합 합성수지재료를 다공질 소결 금속층에 겹쳐놓고 양자를 롤 사이를 통과시킴으로써, 이 합성수지를 상기 다공질 금속층의 모든 공극에 함침시켰다. 다음에, 이 중간 생성물을 327 내지 400℃의 온도에서 통상의 분위기와 산화분위기에서 약 10분간 소성하고, 그후 롤을 통과시켜 두께를 균일하게 하여 종래품(시료 No. 1내지 3) 및 본 발명품(시료 No. 4 내지 8)을 얻었다(상세한 것은 특허출원 공개(평)3-250096호 및 (평)3-250097호에 개시되어 있다.)
[실시예 2]
실시예 1에 기술한 바와 같이, 표 1의 시료 No. 9 내지 11에 나타낸 함침 피복용 복합 합성 수지 재료를 다공도가 50% 내지 80%인 다공질 소결금속층에 겹쳐 놓고 양자를 롤 사이를 통과시킴으로써, 이 다공질 금속층의 내의 모든 공극에 복합 합성수지를 합침시켰다. 그후, 이 중간 생성물을 100℃에서 건조하고 롤 사이를 통과시켜 두께를 균일하게 한 후, 250℃에서 10분간 소성하였다. 이와 같은 방법으로, 본 발명(시료 No. 9 내지 11)을 얻었다.
또, 이들 표면을 절삭가공에 의해 가공하여 베어링을 얻었다. 이들중, 표면으로부터 절삭가공에 의해 가공된 경우의 다공질 금속층의 노출정도를, 화상해석장치에 의해 합성수지부와 금속부 각각에 대해 측정한 결과를 제1도에 나타내었다. 또, 슬라이딩 시험결과를 표 2에, 이의 시험 조건을 표 3에 나타내었다.
제1도로부터 명백히 알 수 있는 바와 같이, 종래품(시료 No. 1 내지 3)과 본 발명품(시료 No. 4 내지 11)을 비교해 보면, 표면으로부터 절삭량이 증가하여도 본 발명품(시료 No. 4 내지 11)은 복합 합성 수지량이 다량 충전되어 있기 때문에 다공질 금속층의 노출도를 억제할 수 있다.
또, 표 2로부터 알 수 있는 바와 같이 종래품(시료 No. 1 내지 3)이 상대측과 소착되지 않고 사용될 수 있는 것은 0.05mm로 절삭한 것 뿐이다. 본 발명품(시료 No. 4 내지 11)에 있어서는 내마모성의 손상없이 상대축과 소착되지 않고 사용할 수 있으며, 내소착특성이 현저하게 향상되게 된다.
본 발명품은 소기의 목적인 내마모성을 손상하지 않고 소착특성이 우수한 복합재료를 제공할 수 있다.

Claims (4)

  1. 이면금속과, 상기 이면금속의 표면에 접합되고, 겉보기밀도가 이론밀도의 20 내지 40%인 금속분말을 가압하지 않고 소결하여 얻은 다공도 50 내지 80%의 다공질 금속층의 공극에 합성수지 조성물을 함침 피복하여 이루어진 슬라이드층을 포함하고, 축과의 접촉면에 상기 다공질 금속층과 상기 합성수지층의 양방이 산재하여 노출하도록 형성한 것을 특징으로 하는 복합 슬라이드 부재.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 이면금속이 강, 스테인레스강 및 구리합금으로 구성된 그룹에서 선택된 1종으로 만들어진 것을 특징으로 하는 복합 슬라이드 부재.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 다공질 금속층은 청동 및 납청동으로 구성된 그룹에서 선택된 1종으로 만들어진 것을 특징으로 하는 복합 슬라이드 부재.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 복합 합성수지가 폴리테트라플루오로에틸렌, 테트라플루오로에틸렌-퍼플루오로 알킬 비닐 에테르 코폴리머, 폴리아세탈, 폴리에테르 에테르케톤, 페놀, 폴리아미드, 폴리아미드이미드로 이루어진 그룹에서 선택된 1종으로 만들어지고, 이들 복합 합성수지 각각은 납, 흑연, MoS2, 불소수지, 금속산화물, 금속불화물, 섬유재료 및 세라믹으로 구성된 그룹에서 선택된 적어도 1종과 각기 혼합하는 것을 특징으로 하는 복합 슬라이드 부재.
