Abstract

본 발명은 제1다수의 도파관(waveguide) 및 제1다수의 도파관에 접속되는 제1자유 공간 영역(free space region)을 포함하는 광학 장치(optical apparatus)에 관한 것으로, 특히, 제2다수의 도파관이 제1자유 공간 영역에 접속되는 광학 장치에 관한 것이다. 광 회절격자(optical grating)는 제2다수의 도파관에 접속되며, 다수의 동일하지 않은 길이의 도파관을 포함한다. 제3다수의 도파관은 광 회절격자에 접속되며, 제2자유 공간 영역은 제3다수의 도파관에 접속된다. 적어도 하나의 도파관은 제2자유 공간 영역에 접속된다. 제1다수의 도파관은 제1자유 공간 영역으로부터 멀리 떨어진 단부(ends)를 갖는 적어도 두개의 인접 도파관을 포함한다.
Y-분기 커플러(Y-branch coupler)는 두개의 인접 도파관의 원격 단부(remote ends)에 접속된다. 인접 도파관은 명시할 수 있는 통과대역 폭(specifiable passband width)을 발생하기 위해 제1자유 공간 영역을 따라 떨어진 소정 거리로 위치된다.

Claims (7)

  1. 제1다수의 도파관; 상기 제1다수의 도파관에 접속되는 제1자유 공간 영역; 상기 제1자유 공간 영역에 접속되는 제2다수의 도파관; 다수의 동일하지 않은 길이의 도파관을 포함하는 상기 제2다수의 도파관에 접속되는 광 회절격자(optical grating); 상기 광 회절격자에 접속되는 제3다수의 도파관; 상기 제3다수의 도파관에 접속되는 제2자유 공간 영역; 상기 제2자유 공간 영역에 접속되는 적어도 하나의 도파관과, 두 인접한 도파관의 원격 단부에 접속되는 Y-분기 커플러를 포함하며, 상기 제1다수의 도파관은 상기 제1자유 공간 영역으로부터 멀리 떨어진 단부(ends)를 구비한 적어도 상기 두개의 인접한 도파관을 포함하고; 상기 인접한 도파관은 명시할 수 있는 통과대역 폭을 발생시키기 위해 상기 제1자유 공간 영역을 따라서 소정의 거리만큼 떨어져서 위치하는 광학 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 소정의 거리가 최대로 되어 상기 통과대역 폭을 통해 전송시 사전선택된 변화를 초과하지 않고 상기 통과대역 폭이 최대가 되도록 하는 광학 장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1다수의 도파관은 상기 제1자유 공간 영역으로부터 멀리 떨어진 단부를 포함하는 적어도 두개의 추가적인 인접 도파관 및 상기 인접한 도파관의 상기 단부에 결합되는 제2 Y-분기 커플러를 포함하는 광학 장치.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 제2자유 공간 영역에 접속되는 상기 적어도 하나의 도파관은 제4다수의 도파관을 더 포함하는 광학 장치.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 제4다수의 도파관은 상기 제2자유 공간 영역을 따라서 서로 분리된 소정의 거리에 각각 위치되어 최대 전송의 제1세트의 파장을 제공하는 명시할 수 있는 중심 파장 및 명시할 수 있는 채널간격을 결정하는 광학 장치.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 최대 전송의 제2세트의 과정을 제공하기 위해 상기 제4다수의 도파관 사이에 인터리브된 제5다수의 도파관을 더 포함하는 광학 장치.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 두 인접한 도파관의 상기 폭은 상기 통과대역의 각각의 에지 근처의 두 사전선택된 파장에서 전송이 최대가 되도록 하는 값을 포함하는 광학 장치.
