Abstract

Claims (14)

  1. 컴퓨터 시스템에 저장된 데이타베이스의 검색방법에 있어서, 질의 그래프 및 이력 윈도우가 디스플레이에 동시에 프리젠트되도록(are presented concurrently), 디스플레이의 질의 윈도우(in a query window)에 첫번째 질의 문을 디스플레이하는 단계, 디스플레이의 그래프 윈도우(in a graph window)에 첫번째 질의 문의 데이타베이스 검색으로부터의 일단의 첫번째 결과를 디스플레이하는 단계, 및 디스플레이의 이력 윈도우(in a history window)에 첫번째 질의 문과 일단의 첫번째 결과를 표현하는 적어도 첫번째 기호(at least a first symbol)를 디스플레이하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색방법.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서, 사용자 입력에 응답하여 그래프 윈도우에 일단의 첫번째 결과의 부분을 표시(marking a section of the first set of results)하는 단계, 첫번째 질의 문과 표시된 부분에 따라 두번째 질의 문을 생성하는 단계, 그래프 윈도우에 일단의 두번째 결과를 디스플레이하는 단계, 및 디스플레이의 이력 윈도우에 두번째 질의 문과 일단의 두번째 결과를 표현하는 적어도 두번째 기호(at least a second symbol)를 디스플레이하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색방법.
  3. 제 1 항에 있어서, 적어도 첫번째 기호는 트리 구조에서 두개의 노드로서 프리젠트(is presented)되고, 일단의 첫번째 결과는 첫번째 질의 문의 자식 노드(a child node)인 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색방법.
  4. 제 3 항에 있어서, 사용자 입력에 응답하여 트리 구조에서 노드를 발췌하는 단계, 발췌된 노드로서 표현되는 질의 문을 질의 윈도우에 프리젠트하는 단계, 및 발췌된 노드로서 표현된 질의 문을 검색하여 나오는 일단의 결과를 그래프 윈도우에 디스플레이하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색방법.
  5. 제 3 항에 있어서, 사용자 입력에 응답하여 트리 구조에서 노드를 발췌하는 단계, 발췌된 노드로서 표현되는 일단의 결과를 그래프 윈도우에 프리젠트하는 단계, 및 발췌된 노드로서 표현된 일단의 결과가 유도되는 질의 문을 질의 윈도우에 디스플레이하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색방법.
  6. 제 4 항에 있어서, 세번째 질의 문을 생성하기 위해 사용자 입력에 응답하여 발췌된 노드로서 표현된 질의 문을 변경하는 단계, 세번째 질의 문을 질의 윈도우에 프리젠트하는 단계, 일단의 세번째 결과를 그래픽 형식(in a graphical format)으로 그래프 윈도우에 디스플레이하는 단계, 및 세번째 질의 문과 일단의 세번째 결과를 표현하는 적어도 세번째 기호(at least a third symbol)를 이력 윈도우에 디스플레이하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색방법.
  7. 컴퓨터에 저장된 데이타베이스의 검색 시스템에 있어서, 질의, 그래프 및 이력 윈도우가 디스플레이에 동시에 프리젠트되도록(are presented concurrently), 디스플레이의 질의 윈도우에 첫번째 질의 문을 디스플레이하는 수단, 디스플레이의 그래프 윈도우에 첫번째 질의 문의 데이타베이스 검색으로부터의 일단의 첫번째 결과를 디스플레이하는 수단, 및 디스플레이의 이력 윈도우에 첫번째 질의 문과 일단의 첫번째 결과를 표현하는 적어도 첫번째 기호를 디스플레이하는 수단을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색 시스템.
  8. 제 7 항에 있어서, 사용자 입력에 응답하여 그래프 윈도우에 일단의 첫번째 결과의 부분을 표시하는 수단, 첫번째 질의 문과 표시된 부분에 따라 두번째 질의 문을 생성하는수단, 그래프 윈도우에 일단의 두번째 결과를 디스플레이하는 수단, 및 이력 윈도우에 두번째 질의 문과 일단의 두번째 결과를 표현하는 적어도 두번째 기호를 디스플레이하는 수단을 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색 시스템.
  9. 제 7 항에 있어서, 적어도 첫번째 기호는 트리 구조에서 두개의 노드로서 프리젠트되고, 일단의 첫번째 결과는 첫번째 질의 문의 자석 노드인 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색 시스템.
  10. 제 9 항에 있어서, 사용자 입력에 응답하여 트리 구조에서 노드를 발췌하는 수단, 발췌된 노드로서 표현되는 질의 문을 질의 윈도우에 프리젠트하는 수단, 및 발췌된 노드로서 표현된 질의 문을 검색하여 나오는 일단의 결과를 그래프 윈도우에 디스플레이하는 수단을 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색 시스템.
  11. 제 9 항에 있어서, 사용자 입력에 응답하여 트리 구조에서 노드를 발췌하는 수단, 발췌된 노드로서 표현되는 일단의 결과를 그래프 윈도우에 프리젠트하는 수단, 및 발췌된 노드로서 표현된 일단의 결과가 유도되는 질의 문을 질의 윈도우에 디스플레이하는 수단을 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색 시스템.
  12. 제10항에 있어서, 세번째 질의 문을 생성하기 위해 사용자 입력에 응답하여 발췌된 노드로서 표현된 질의 문을 변경하는 수단, 질의 윈도우에 세번째 질의 문을 프리젠트하는 수단, 세번째 질의 문에 따라 데이타베이스를 검색하고, 일단의 세번째 결과를 그래픽 형식으로 그래프 윈도우에 디스플레이하는 수단, 및 세번째 질의 문과 일단의 세번째 결과를 각각 표현하는 다섯번째와 여섯번째 기호(a fifth and sixth symbol)를 이력 윈도우에 생성하는 수단을 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색 시스템.
  13. 제 7 항에 있어서, 결과가 멀티미디어 형식(in a multimedia format)으로 디스플레이되는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타베이스 검색 시스템.
