제2도는 본 발명에 의한 액정소자의 또 다른 개략도.

Claims (12)

  1. 반강유전성상을 나타내는 적어도 1종의 화합물과 콜레스테릭상을 나타내는 적어도 1종의 화합물로 되는 것을 특징인 액정 조성물.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 반강유전성을 나타내는 화합물은 하기식[A]으로 나타낸 카복실산 에스테인 것이 특징인 액정조성물.
    상기 식중, R1은 3∼20 탄소수의 알킬그룹 또는 3∼20 탄소수의 할로겐화 알킬그룹이며 B1, B2, B3및 B5는 각각 독립적으로 -O-, -COO-, -OCO-, -CH2-CH2-, -CH=CH-, -CH2O-, -OCH2-, -S-S-, -S-, -CO-CH2-, -CH2-CO-, -NH-CO-, -CO-NH-, -CH=N-, -N=CH-, -NH-, -CO-, -NH-NH-, -NH-CH2- 및 -CH2-NH-로 구성되는 군으로부터 선택된 그룹 또는 싱글본드이고, B4는 -(CH2)w-W는 0∼3의 정수이며, A1, A2및 A3는 각각 독립적으로 하기것들
    로 구성되는 군으로부터 선택된 그룹 또는 싱글본드이며, A1, A2및 A3는 할로겐 또는 저급알킬그룹으로 치환될 수도 있으며, X1, Y1및 Z1은 각각 독립적으로 수소원자 또는 할로겐원자이며, n은 0∼4의 정수이며, R2는 1∼20 탄소수의 알킬그룹임.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, A3는 하기것들로 구성되는 군으로부터 선택된 그룹이며,
    X1, Y1및 Z1은 각각 독립적으로 수소원자 또는 불소원자이며, n은 0이며, B4는 -CH2- 또는 싱글본드이며, B5는 싱글본드인 것이 특징인 액정조성물.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, B1은 -O- 또는 싱글본드이며, A1및 A2는 각각 독립적으로 하기것들로 구성되는 군으로부터 선택된 그룹이며,
    B2및 B3는 각각 독립적으로 -COO- 또는 -OCO-이며, A3는 하기것들로 구성되는 군으로부터 선택된 그룹이며,
    X1, Y1및 Z1은 각각 독립적으로 수소원자 또는 불소원자이며, n은 0이며, B4는 싱글본드이며, B5는 싱글본드인 것이 특징인 액정조성물.
  5. 제2항에 있어서, B1은 -O- 또는 싱글본드이며, A1은 하기의 것이며,
    A2및 A3각각은 하기것이며,
    B2및 B3는 각각은 -COO-이며, X1, Y1및 Z1은 각각 독립적으로 수소원자 또는 불소원자이며, n은 0이며, B4는 싱글본드이며, B5는 싱글본드인 것이 특징인 액정조성물.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 콜레스테릭상의 화합물은 하기식[B]로 나타낸 화합물인 것이 특징인 액정 조성물.
    상기식중 R3는 3-20 탄소수의 알킬그룹 또는 3-20 탄소수의 할로겐화 알킬그룹이며, B6는 -O- 또는 싱글본드이며, B7, B8및 B9는 각각 독립적으로 -COO-, -OCO- 또는 싱글본드이며, A4및 A5는 각각 독립적으로 하기것들로 구성되는 군으로부터 선택된 또는 싱글본드이며,
    m은 1∼3의 정수이며, R4는 2∼5 탄소수의 알킬그룹임.
  7. 제1 내지 6항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 조성물 200중량부당 상기 식[A]로 나타낸 화합물이 1∼99중량부이고, 상기식[B]로 나타낸 화합물이 99∼1 중량부인 것이 특징인 액정 조성물.
  8. 2기판을 서로 대향시켜 간격을 갖는 셀내에 청구범위 1∼7항중 어느 한 항의 액정조성물을 충전한 것이 특징인 액정소자.
  9. 제8항의 액정소자를 사용하는 것이 특징인 광전장치.
  10. 제8항의 액정소자를 사용하는 것이 특징인 광학변조소자.
  11. 2기판을 서로 대향시켜 간격을 갖는 셀내에 액정조성물을 충전시켜된 액정소자를 제조하는 방법에 있어서, 상기 기판들중 적어도 하나의 안쪽면위에 배향제어막을 구비한 셀을 형성하는 단계와, 상기 셀의 간격내를 청구범위 제1∼7항중 어느 한 항의 액정조성물로 제조한 액정물질을 충전시키는 단계와, 상기 셀의 간격내에 충전된 액정물질이 등방성상이 되는 온도이상의 온도까지 상기 셀을 가열하는 단계와, 상기 셀을 액정 물질이 액정상이되는 온도이하의 온도까지 냉각시키는 단계를 포함하는 것이 특징인 액정소자의 제조방법.
  12. 제11항에 있어서 액정물질이 등방성상이 되는 온도이상 상기 셀을 가열한 다음 액정물질이 액정상이 되는 온도이하의 온도까지 냉각시키는 단계는 2℃/분 이하의 속도로 냉각하는 것이 특징인 액정소자의 제조방법.
