Claims (10)

  1. 하기 단계(a)∼(f)로 구성된, 에틸렌옥사이드 수용액으로 부터 에틸렌글리콜을 제조하는 방법.
    (a) 상기한 에틸렌옥사이드 수용액을 이산화탄소와 근사-임계 또는 초과-임계조건하에서 접촉시켜 거의 모든 에틸렌옥사이드를 이산화탄소내로 추출하여 소량의 물을 함유하는 에틸렌옥사이드-풍부이산화탄소상과 에틸렌옥사이드-희박 수상을 생성하고 ;
    (b) 상기(a)의 에틸렌옥사이드-이산화탄소상을 탄산화조건하에서 탄산화촉매와 접촉시켜 에틸렌카보네이트 풍부이산화탄소 흐름을 생성하고 ;
    (c) (d)의 촉매함유 에틸렌카보네이트 흐름에 물을 첨가하여 상기 에틸렌카보네이트를 에틸렌글리콜과 이산화탄소로 가수분해하고 ;
    (d) 상기 (c)의 에틸렌글리콜 함유흐름으로부터 가수분해시 생성된 이산화탄소를 플래시제거한 후 이 이산화탄소를 (a)의 (근사)초과-임계추출 단계로 복귀시키고 ;
    (e) (d)의 플래시된 흐름으로 부터 에틸렌글리콜을 분리하고 ;
    (f) (b)에 첨가된 촉매를 회수하여 탄산화반응에 재순환 시킨다.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 에틸렌옥사이드-회박 수상으로 부터 (a)의 에틸렌옥사이드-이산화탄소상을 분리하고 상기 분리된 이산화탄소상을 저압으로 플래시하여 이 산화탄소소량을 증발시키고 에틸렌옥사이드에 대한 이산화탄소의 비가 낮은 액체상을 분리한 후 이것을 에틸렌옥사이드-풍부이산화탄소로서 탄산화반응(b)로 공급해주는 단계로 구성된 방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 탄산화 단계(b)를 20℃ 이상의 온도, 에틸렌옥사이드에 대한 촉매몰비 약 0.01∼0.15하에서 수행하며 상기 촉매가 유기 4급 암모늄할라이드, 유기 4급 포스포늄할라이드, 유기설포늄할라이드 및 유기안티몬할라이드로 구성된 군중 적어도 하나인 방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기(a)의 추출이 약 35∼300kg/cm2게이지의 압력과 약 0∼100℃의 온도하에서 수행되는 방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기(c)의 가수분해가 약 90∼200℃의 온도 및 에틸렌카보네이트에 대한 물의 몰비 약 1∼100하에서 수행되는 방법.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기(d)의 플래시된 흐름을 1차 증류탑에서 증류하여 상부 생성물로서 물을 제거하고 글리콜, 무거운 부산물 및 촉매를 기저생성물로서 분리하는 방법.
  7. 제6항에 있어서, 상기 기저 생성물을 제2증류탑 중에서 증류하여 모노에틸렌글리콜을 상부 생성물로서, 디에틸렌글리콜, 무거운 부산물 및 촉매를 기저 생성물로서 분리하는 방법.
  8. 제7항에 있어서, 상기 제2증류탑의 기저생성물을 제3증류탑에서 증류하며 디에틸렌글리콜을 상부생성물로서, 무거운 부산물과 촉매를 기저 생성물로서 분리하는 방법.
  9. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 제3증류탑의 기저생성물을 증발시켜 증기로서 무거운 부산물을 제거하고 상기 촉매를 단계(b)에 재순환시키기 위해 분리하는 방법.
