제1도는 쌍안정성의 개요를 도시하는 그라프적인 에너지 도면. 제2도는 액정전지의 개략적 도면. 제3도는 지시기배열의 영역들 사이의 경계들에서 당일성점들의 라인들에서 일어나는 지시기배열의 영역들을 갖는 기판의 표면을 개략적으로 도시한 도면. 제4도는 정극성 및 부극성 지시기 배열의 규정을 개략적으로 도시한 도면. 제5도는 직선경계들을 갖는 지시기배열의 영역이 있는 기판의 표면을 개략적으로 도시한 도면. 제6도는 꼬아지지 않거나, 꼬아진 지시기배열 구조를 개략적으로 도시한 도면. 제7도는 본 발명의 일실시예의 도식적 횡단면도. 제8도는 제7도에서 도시된 실시예 내에서 사용하기에 적당한 전지소자의 상면도를 도식적으로 도시한 도면. 제9도는 제8도에서 도시된 다수의 전지들을 절취한 상면도. 제10도 및 제11도는 제7도 실시예의 변형을 도식적으로 도시한 횡단면도.

Claims (10)

  1. 본문에서 설명되고 도면에서 도시된 바와 같이, 제1기판(910)표면과 제2기판(950) 표면 사이에 위치된 인가지시기들을 갖으며, 네마틱중간위상에 있는 액정재질을 포함하는 액정장치(1010 제2도)에 있어서, 인가배열의 적어도 두개의 단일성점들(즉 920,921)을 연속하는 제1및 제2기판에 의하여 제공된 경계를 특징으로 하는 기계적 다안정 액정장치.
  2. 제1항에 의한 액정장치에 있어서 기판표면들이 평행배열됨을 특징으로 하는 기계적 단안정 액정장치.
  3. 제2항에 의한 액정장치에 있어서, 상기 제1및 제2기판표면의 제각기 상에 적어도 두 개의 근접영역들(제7도 33-34, 25-26)이 제각기 표면에 위치된 지시기들이 평행으로 배열되는 특성과, 제각기 기판표면에로의 보통에 대하여 정극성으로부터 부극성각도로 바궈는 근접 영역내의 배열특성을 특징으로하는 기계적 다안정 액정장치.
  4. 제3항에 의한 액정장치에 있어서, 상기 제1기판표면 상의 정극성 각도에서 배열된 지시기들을 갖는 상기 영역이 상기 제2기판표면상의 부극성각도에서 배열된 지시기들을 갖는 상기 영역 상에 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 기계적 다안정 액정장치(제7도).
  5. 제3항에 의한 액정장치에 있어서, 상기 제1기판 표면상의 정극성 각도에서 배열된 지시기를 갖는 상기 영역이 상기 제2기판 표면상의 정극성에서 배열된 지시기들을 갖는 상기 영역상에 있음을 특징으로 하는 기계적 다안정 액정장치(제10도).
  6. 제5항에 의한 액정장치에 있어서, 상기 제1 및 제2기판표면들이 상기 제1 및 제2기판 표면들에서 위치된 지시기들이 상기 표면들에 수직으로 배열된 특성을 갖는 기계적 다안정 액정장치.
  7. 제5항에 의한 액정장치에 있어서, 상기 표면들의 제각기 상의 적어도 두개의 근접영역이 지시기들이 여기에 교호로 수직 및 수평으로 배열됨을 특징으로 하는 기계적 다안정 액정장치.
  8. 제1기판표면(제12도 56)과 제2기판표면(57) 사이에 위치된, 그리고 인가지시기들을 갖이며, 네마틱 중간위상인 액정재질을 포함하는 액정장치가, 적어도 두 개의 점에서 상기 액정재질내에 비경사를 분리하기 위한 장치(63)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 기계적 다안정 액정장치.
  9. 제8항에 의한 액정장치에 있어서, 비경사를 분리하기 위한 장치가 상기 표면들 상에 전극들의 패턴을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 기계적 다안정 액정장치.
  10. 제1항에 의한 액정장치에 있어서, 다수의 장치들(제8도, 360,365,366)을 상기 장치가 포함하며, 여러가지의 장치들이 상기 장치들 내의 지시기들로 부터 다르게 되는 상기 영역내의 지시기들의 인가방향으로 절연영역(315,370)에 의하여 제각기에서 분리됨을 특징으로 하는 기계액 다안정 액정장치.
