Abstract

본 발명은 치료장치에 관한 것이고 더욱 상세하게는 피부 질환과 같은 질환을 광, 열 및/또는 진동 요법의 인가를 통해 치료하는 손바닥 크기의 이동식 장치에 관한 것이다.
치료 물질의 국소 적용과 특정 파장 및 강도의 광(전자기 방사선)에의 통제된 노출을 통해 다양한 피부 질환이 치료될 수 있다. 그와 같은 피부 질환들의 치료는 진동 자극과 같은 기계적 자극 또는 원하는 치료 부위에 열을 인가함으로써 향상될 수 있다.
일 측면으로, 하나 이상의 피부 질환을 치료하는 원하는 특성을 가진 전자기 방사선을 방출하는 하나 이상의 광원을 수용하는 포팅; 상기 포팅의 한 끝에 배치되고, 상기 하나 이상의 광원으로부터 방출된 전자기 방사선을 사용자의 피부에 전송하고 상기 하나 이상의 광원의 동작에 의해 발생된 열을 사용자의 피부에 전달하는 피부 접촉면; 상기 포팅의 다른 끝에 직접 또는 간접으로 접촉하고, 상기 피부 접촉면을 진동시키는 진동기; 및 상기 광원 및 상기 진동기의 동작을 제어하는 제어 어셈블리를 포함하는, 피부 치료 장치가 제공된다.

일 실시예에 따른 치료장치(treatment device)(10)는 도 1에 대략 도시되어 있다. 치료장치(10)는 치료 헤드(treatment head)(12), 바디(body)(14) 및 디스펜서 헤드(dispenser head)(16)를 포함한다.
치료 헤드(12)는 치료 헤드 하우징(22) 내에 배치된 치료 어셈블리(20)(도 2a 및 도 2b 참조)를 포함한다. 치료 헤드 하우징(22)은 치료 어셈블리(20)을 수용하는 캐비티(cavity)(24)(도 4 참조)와 한쪽 끝에 애퍼처(aperture)(26)를 형성한다. 치료 어셈블리(20)는 포팅(30) 내에 적어도 일부가 매립된 하나 이상의 광원(28)을 포함한다. 광원(28)은 보통 기판-내장-칩(chip-in-board) 또는 표면 실장 LED와 같은 발광다이오드(LED: light emitting diode)일 수 있으며, 더욱 일반적으로는 매립형(encapsulated) LED일 수 있다.
광원(28)은 일반적으로 400~1500 nm 범위에서 동작한다. 더욱 일반적으로 광원(28)은 여드름 치료를 위해 400~450 nm 범위(특정적으로는 414 nm), 피부 재생을 위해 600~1,000 nm 범위(특정적으로는 660 nm), 미세-순환 자극을 위해 800~1,000 nm 범위(특정적으로는 870 nm)에서 동작한다. 광원(28)을 사용하는 치료를 위한 에너지 출력은 보통 5-15 J/cm2의 범위에 있다. 청색광(414 nm) 치료를 위한 에너지 출력은 보통 약 6 J/cm2이다. 120초의 치료시간 동안, 파워밀도는 보통 50 mW/cm2이다. 어떤 다른 파장들의 경우, 에너지 출력은 동일한 치료시간을 가정하면 7 J/cm2 내지 8.4 J/cm2 사이의 범위에 있을 수 있다. 그리고, 만일 단일점 광원(28)이 사용된다면, 15 J/cm2 이상의 에너지 출력이 적용될 수 있다.
도 1 내지 도 5에서 도시된 것과 같이 원형 배열로 균일하게 분포된 7개 또는 임의의 개수의(단지 예시를 위한 것임) 매립된 LED 광원들의 클러스터처럼, 복수의 광원(28)이 보통 포팅(30) 내에 매립된다. 도 7 내지 도 9와 같은 다른 구성의 형상 및 배열이 채용될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 포팅(30)은 광원의 상당한 부분을 수용하는 투명한 에폭시 포팅일 수 있다. 광원(28)이 하나 이상의 매립된 LED를 포함할 때, 그와 같은 투명한 에폭시 포팅(30)은 보통 LED를 매립하기 위해 사용된 에폭시 재료의 굴절률과 유사한 굴절률을 가진다. LED 에폭시 매립을 위해 1.47~1.52 범위의 굴절률에 유사한 약 1.5의 굴절률(20℃에서) 때문에 예를 들면 아크릴 에폭시 포팅(30)이 선택될 수 있다.
도 1 내지 도 5에 도시된 치료장치(10)의 일 실시예에서, 포팅(30)은 일반적으로 애퍼처(26)와 같은 높이인 캐비티(24)(도 4 참조) 내에 배치된다. 매립된 LED 광원(28)들의 팁(tips)은 애퍼처(26)로부터 짧은 거리(보통 0.5~5 mm) 돌출한다. 포팅(30)의 노출된 면과 매립된 LED의 돌출한 팁은 함께 치료 어셈블리(20)의 피부 접촉면(34)을 형성한다. 피부 접촉면(34)은 대안으로, 보통 투명 에폭시 재료로 형성되고, 치료 헤드(12)의 끝에 배치되고, 및 도 7 내지 도 9에 도시된 것과 같이 피부에 광, 열 및 진동 에너지를 전달하기 위해 적응된 면판(faceplate)(36)(도 5, 도 7 및 도 8 참조)에 의해 형성될 수 있다. 면판(36)은 치료 헤드(12)의 끝에 접속부(48)(도 7 및 도 8 참조), 예를 들면 치료 헤드 하우징(22) 위의 비드(bead)(39)에 대한 스냅 고정(snap fit), 나사 접속부(도시되지 않음) 또는 다른 적당한 제거가능한 접속 수단에 의해, 제거 가능하게 접속될 수 있다. 상기 제거 가능한 접속부는 사용자가 원하는 치료에 따라 다양한 면판들을 교환하여 고정하는 것을 허용한다.
포팅(30)의 나머지는 캐비티(24)(도 4, 도 5, 도 7 및 도 8 참조) 내에 배치되며 피부 접촉면(34)의 반대쪽 포팅(30)의 측면 위에 배치되고 제1 인쇄회로기판(PCB)(40)에 접속되는 피부 비접촉면(38)을 포함한다. 제1 PCB(40)는, 포팅(30)을 형성하는 용융 재료가 치료 헤드 하우징(22) 내에 배치될 때, 공기를 배출시키는 복수의 통기 구멍을 포함한다.
포팅(30)은 광원(28)에서 발생된 열을 피부 접촉면(34)에 전달하는 기능을 한다. 매립된 LED 광원(28)은 피부 접촉면(34)을 통한 전달 시 다양한 피부 질환의 치료를 돕기 위해 충분한 열을 생성해야 한다는 것이 알려졌다. 통상적으로, (보통 37~45℃ 범위의) 사용자의 피부가 따뜻하게 느끼기에 충분한 열이 피부 접촉면(34)을 위해 생성된다. 도 8에 도시된 대안적인 실시예에서, 광원(28) 단독의 열 전달에 의해 달성될 수 있는 것보다 더 큰 양의 열 또는 더욱 일정한 온도를 제공하기 위해 히터(44)가 포팅(30) 내에 배치될 수 있다. 또한, 치료 중 사용을 위해 RF(radio frequency) 에너지를 방출하는 RF 에너지 방출기(45)가 포팅(30) 내에 배치될 수 있다. 또한, 온도 센서 또는 근접 센서와 같은 센서(도시되지 않음)들이 치료장치(10)의 동작을 제어하는데 사용을 위해 치료 헤드(12) 내에 배치될 수 있다.
피부 접촉면(34)은 피부에 대한 원하는 치료의 적용을 최적화하기 위해 보통 형성물(46)을 포함한다. 형성물(46)은 피부를 늘이고, 구멍을 개방하고, 치료장치(10)로부터 피부로의 광, 열 및 특히 진동 에너지의 전달을 최적화하는 것을 포함하는 다수의 방법으로 치료장치(10)의 성능을 개선한다.
형성물(46)은 도 7 내지 도 9에 도시된 것과 같은 다양한 형상 및 배열 또는 각각의 조합을 갖는 하나 이상의 돌출부(46a)(도 8 참조) 또는 함몰부(46b)(도 7 참조)를 포함할 수 있다. 형성물(46)은 원하는 치료에 따라 매끄러운 표면 또는 연마 표면을 가질 수 있다. 형성물(46) 특히 함몰부(46b)는 무사마귀, 수포 또는 여드름과 같은 피부 질환을 완전히 둘러싸고 감싸는 크기를 가질 수 있다.
치료 어셈블리(20)는 또한 포팅(30)의 뒷면(38)과 접촉하는 측면 반대쪽의 측면 위에 공통 축(A)을 따라서 포팅(30)과 제1 PCB(40)를 체결하는 예컨대, 디스크 타입 진동 모터와 같은 진동기(42)(도 4, 도 5, 도 7 및 도 8 참조)를 포함한다. 진동기(42)는 진동이 피부 접촉면(34)으로 전달되는 것을 보장하기 위해 보통 에폭시, 용접 또는 다른 적당한 부가기구를 사용하여 제1 PCB(40)에 고정된다. 진동기(42)는 일정한 진동 구동 스킴(driving scheme)을 사용하여 원하는 동작 주파수로 마이크로컨트롤러(48)(도 6 참조)의 제어하에 펄스 폭 변조(PWM)를 통해 구동되어, 배터리가 최대 파워로부터 낮은 파워까지 오랜 시간 소모되는 동안 가변 전압 범위에 적응한다. 진동기(42)는 아음파(subsonic) 주파수, 음파 주파수 또는 초음파 주파수에서 특히 5,000~25,000 Hz의 범위에서 동작할 수 있다.

바디(14)(도 1 내지 도 3 참조)는 축(A)을 따라 정렬된 전기회로 구성요소들을 포함하며 바디 하우징(52) 내에 수용된 제어 어셈블리(50)를 포함한다. 제어 어셈블리(50)는 진동기(42)에 조작 가능하게 접속된 제2 PCB(54)를 포함한다. 바디 하우징(52)의 외부에는 치료장치(10)의 동작을 제어하기 위한 제어 스위치(56)가 배치된다. 제어 스위치(56)는 간단한 온/오프 스위치(도시되지 않음)이거나 치료장치(10)의 동작을 제어하기 위한 추가의 제어 세팅을 가질 수 있다. 상기 추가의 제어 세팅은 진동 양을 제어하는 진동 제어 및/또는 광원에 의해 방출되는 광 양을 제어하는 광원 제어를 포함할 수 있다. 제어 스위치(56)는 제3 PCB(58) 위에 배치된 마이크로컨트롤러(48)(도 6 참조)에 조작 가능하게 접속된다. 그 다음에 제3 PCB(58)는 바디 하우징(52) 내에 배치된 하나 이상의 교체 가능한 또는 재충전 배터리와 같은 전원공급장치(60)에 접속된다. 바디 하우징(52)은 상기 배터리에 대한 액세스를 용이하게 하기 위해 치료 헤드 하우징(22) 에 제거 가능하게 접속된다. 편리하게, 전원공급장치(60)용 배터리는 단일의 배터리 홀더(62) 내에 배치될 수 있다.

바디(14)는 또한 디바이더(divider)(66)와 배터리 홀더(62) 사이에 또는 축(A)을 따라서 임의의 다른 적당한 위치에 배치된 바이어스(bias)(64)(도 2 및 도 4 참조)를 포함할 수 있다. 바이어스(64)는 예를 들면 스프링, 고무 실린더 등일 수 있고 임의의 압축성 또는 확장성 재료로 만들어질 수 있으며 댐퍼로서 작동하여, 축(A)을 따라서 치료장치(10) 전기회로 부품들의 어떤 움직임을 경감시키고 축을 따라서 서로에 대하여 치료장치(10) 전기회로 부품들을 압착함으로써 그와 같은 외란의 경우에 부품들의 축방향 또는 수직 방향의 움직임 및 이탈을 방지한다.

디스펜서 헤드(16)는, 다양한 디스펜서 헤드(16)가 바디(14)에 부착될 수 있도록, 예를 들면 나사 또는 스냅 고정 또는 자석 접속부에 의해 위에 배치된 접속부(82)에 의해 바디(14)에 제거 가능하게 부착될 수 있다. 다양한 디스펜서 헤드(16)는 치료 물질의 새로운 공급 또는 원하는 도포를 위한 대체 유형의 치료 물질을 포함할 수 있다. 대안으로, 상기 물질 용기는 치료 물질의 재충전(도시되지 않음)을 받도록 개조되거나 새로운 용기가 삽입되도록 해치(hatch)(도시되지 않음)를 통해 제거 가능할 수 있다.
치료장치(10)의 특정 기능적 요소들의 상호운용성을 도해하는 블럭도인 도 6을 참조한다. 전원공급장치(60)는 특정 기능적 요소들에 전력을 공급하며 마이크로컨트롤러(48)는 상기 기능적 요소들의 동작을 제어한다. 마이크로컨트롤러는 프로세서 및 메모리를 포함할 수 있다. 예컨대, 전원공급장치(60)의 모니터링 및 광원(28), 진동기(42) 및 (옵션인) 히터(44)의 모니터링 및 제어와 같은, 마이크로컨트롤러의 기능의 일부 또는 전부는 메모리에 저장되는 소프트웨어를 사용하여 프로세서 내에 프로그램될 수 있다. 제어 스위치(56)는 마이크로컨트롤러(48)의 수동 제어 및 추가로 치료장치(10)의 기능적 요소들의 제어를 허용한다.
사용 시, 사용자는 디스펜서 헤드(16)를 사용하여 사용자 피부의 원하는 부위에 치료 물질을 도포할 수 있다. 디스펜서 헤드(16)는, 사용자가 치료장치(10)를 간단히 돌려서 치료 헤드(12)를 사용하여 원하는 치료를 적용할 수 있도록, 치료장치(10)의 한 끝에 편리하게 위치된다. 사용자는 그 다음 피부 접촉면(34)을 사용자 피부의 원하는 부위에 적용하여 원하는 시간 동안(예컨대 2분) 원하는 치료를 수행한다. 사용자는 사용자 피부에 대하여 원하는 양의 압력을 인가하여, 피부 접촉면(34)의 형성물(46)이 피부를 늘이고, 구멍을 개방하고 및 피부에 광, 열 및 진동 에너지의 전달을 최적화하는 것을 허용한다. 또한 사용자는 더 큰 피부 표면 부위를 더욱 자극하고 치료하기 위해 피부 표면 위에서 치료장치(10)를 이동시킬 수 있다.
상기 치료장치는 광, 열 및 진동 에너지의 조합의 적용으로부터 이익을 얻는 넓은 범위의 질환을 치료하는데 사용하기 위한 것이다. 통상 그와 같은 질환들은 여드름, 상해결점, 무사마귀, 셀룰라이트 및 미세순환 및 콜라겐 생성으로부터 이익을 얻는 노화 관련 질환과 같은 미용상 또는 피부과적 질환이다.

Claims (22)

  1. 피부 치료 장치에 있어서,
    하나 이상의 피부 질환을 치료하는 원하는 특성을 가진 전자기 방사선을 방출하는 하나 이상의 광원(28)의 상당한 부분을 수용하는 포팅(30);
    상기 포팅(30)의 한 끝에 배치되고, 상기 하나 이상의 광원(28)으로부터 방출된 전자기 방사선을 사용자의 피부에 전송하는 피부 접촉면(34);
    상기 포팅(30)의 다른 끝에 직접 또는 간접으로 접촉하고, 상기 피부 접촉면(34)을 진동시키는 진동기(42); 및
    상기 광원(28) 및 상기 진동기(42)의 동작을 제어하는 제어 어셈블리(50)를 포함하고,
    상기 포팅은 상기 하나 이상의 광원으로부터 발생된 열을 상기 피부 접촉면 및 사용자 피부에 전달하는, 피부 치료 장치.
