Abstract

Description
본 명세서는 유리-코팅된 가요성(flexible) 기판 제품의 제조 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 또한 가요성 태양 전지(solar cell) 및 다른 용품을 제조하는데 적합한 코팅된 기판 재료에 관한 것이다.
광전지(Photovoltaic cell)는 다양한 재료의 층을 기판 상에 침착시킴으로써 제조된다. 기판은 강성(rigid) (예를 들어, 유리 또는 규소 웨이퍼)이거나 또는 가요성 (예를 들어, 금속 또는 중합체 시트)일 수 있다.
박막 Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) 태양 전지의 제조에 사용되는 대부분의 일반적인 기판 재료는 소다 석회(soda lime) 유리이다. 소다 석회 유리는, 알칼리 금속 (주로 나트륨)이 유리로부터 CIGS층으로 확산되기 때문에 태양 전지의 효율에 기여한다. 그러나, 유리 기판 상에 CIGS를 배치식으로 제조하는 것은 고비용이며, 유리는 전형적으로 롤-투-롤(roll-to-roll) 방법을 위해서 개작되기에는 너무 강성이다. 광전지를 위해서 일반적인 유리 기판을 사용하는 것의 단점은, 가요성이고, 광활성층을 생성하는데 사용되는 고온을 허용하고, 저비용이고, 롤-투-롤 방법에서 사용하기에 적합한 기판에 대한 연구에 동기를 부여하였다.
중합체, 예컨대 폴리이미드 및 금속, 예컨대 몰리브덴, 알루미늄 및 티타늄 포일을 비롯한 몇몇 재료가 가요성 CIGS 태양 전지를 위한 기판 재료로서 시험되었다. 기판은 최대 800℃의 온도 및 환원성 분위기(reducing atmosphere)에서 견뎌야 한다. 금속 기판은 또한 통합된 시리즈 연결부를 갖는 CIGS 모듈의 제조를 용이하게 하기 위해서 후면 접촉부로부터 전기적으로 절연되어야 한다. 기판 재료의 열팽창 계수(CTE)는 기판으로부터 절연 재료가 열적으로 균열(cracking)되거나 탈층되는 것을 방지하기 위해서 전기 절연 재료의 CTE에 가능한 가까운 것이 바람직하다.
또한, CIGS가 CZTS-Se로 교체된 것을 제외하고는, CIGS 태양 전지와 유사한 CZTS-Se 기재 태양 전지를 개발하는 것이 흥미로우며, 여기서, "CZTS-Se"는 Cu2ZnSnS4, Cu2ZnSnSe4, 및 Cu2ZnSnSxSe4 -x (여기서, 0 ≤ × ≤ 4임)을 비롯한 Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4의 모든 가능한 조합을 포함한다.
중합체는 일반적으로 450℃ 초과에서는 열적으로 안정하지 않고, 450℃를 초과하는 온도가 광전지를 비롯한 다수의 응용분야에서 일상적으로 성취되기 때문에, 코팅된 금속 기판이 바람직하였다.
금속 기판 상에 전기 절연층을 형성하기 위해서, 배치식 증착 방법으로 금속 스트립(strip) 상에 SiOx 또는 SiO2를 침착시키는 것이 공지되어 있다.
또한, 임의로는 알루미나 입자를 함유하는 알칼리 실리케이트의 제1 코트로 금속 기저부(base)를 코팅하는 것이 공지되어 있다. 실리콘의 제2 코트를 알칼리 실리케이트의 제1 코트 상에 적용할 수 있다.
다른 접근에서, 스테인레스강 플레이트를 유기 용매 중의 금속 알콕사이드, 유기알콕시실란, 물, 및 증점제, 예컨대 알콕시 실란의 용액과 접촉시킨 후, 건조하고, 하소한다(calcine).

페라이트계(ferritic) 스테인레스강 상에 알루미늄 산화물의 전기 절연층을 형성하는 방법이 개시되어 있다. 산화물 필름 상에서의 플라즈마 화학적 증착 (P-CVD)에 의해서 제조된 비정질 규소 태양 배터리를 위한 기판으로서 알루미나-코팅된 스테인레스강 시트를 사용하였다.
공히-계류중인 출원 시리얼 번호 (CL4932)에는, 유리의 코팅을 갖고, 유리와 강철층 사이에 알루미나의 층이 배치된 강철 기판이 개시되어 있다.
유리 코팅과 금속 기판 사이에 내부층(interlayer) 코팅이 필요하지 않으면서, 금속의 가요성 및 유리의 표면 특성을 갖고, CIGS 전지의 제조를 위한 롤-투-롤 방법에서 사용될 수 있는 기판을 제조하는 방법이 필요하다.
요약
일 양태에서, 본 발명은

일 실시양태에서, 본 발명은 가요성 기판의 표면 상에 유리층을 침착시키고/거나 형성하는 방법이다. 예를 들어, 광전지에서, 일반적인 유리 기판 사용 시의 적어도 일부의 단점을 극복하기 위해서, 가요성 재료의 표면에 유리-유사 특성을 부여하는 것이 바람직할 수 있다.
본 발명의 가요성 기판은 가요성 중합체 기판일 수 있다. 본 발명에서 사용하기에 적합한 중합체 기판에는 예를 들어, 폴리이미드 중합체 및 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트 (PET) 중합체가 포함될 수 있다. 모든 중합체가 본 명세서에서 사용하기에서 적합한 것은 아니다. PET와 같은 중합체는 본 발명의 방법에서 사용되는 고온에서 분해될 수 있다. 그러나, 일 실시양태에서, 본 발명은 본 발명의 실시에서 사용하기에 적합한 상기 열-분해가능한 중합체를 제조하기 위한 방법이며, 이로 인해서, 고온은 중합체의 표면에서만 국한되며, 이러한 열의 국지화는 중합체의 다른 영역에서 실질적인 열적 분해를 방지함으로써, 분해가능한 중합체 상에서의 고온 처리의 부정적인 효과를 실질적으로 감소시킬 수 있다.
일 실시양태에서, 본 발명은 유리-코팅된 중합체 복합층을 포함하는 용품이다. 유리-코팅된 중합체 복합층은 예를 들어, 전자 장치에서 또는 광전지의 성분으로서 유용할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 유리-코팅된 PET 복합층은 광전지에서 장벽층으로서 유용할 수 있다. 유리-코팅된 폴리이미드 복합층은 박막 광전지의 침착을 위해서 광전지에서 기판층으로서 유용할 수 있다. 본 발명의 유리 코팅된 기판은 또한 예를 들어, 인쇄 배선 기판(printed wire board) 및 트랜지스터에서 유용할 수 있고, 수분 장벽으로서 유용할 수 있다.
유리 전구체 코팅을 소성(firing)하여, 가요성 기판 상에 유리층을 형성하는데 필요한 공정 온도로 인해서, 적합한 기판은 250℃ 초과 내지 약 800℃ 이하의 가공 온도를 견딜 수 있어야 한다.
이러한 방법은 가요성 기판의 표면의 표면을 부동태화(passivating)하는데 유용하다. 부동태화는 화학적 침략으로부터 표면을 보호할 수 있다. 유리층은 열 및/또는 전기 절연층으로서 또는 이온 장벽으로서 제공될 수 있고, 승온에서 태양 전지를 열적 가공할 때 오염물로부터의 CIGS의 해로운 도핑을 방지한다 (600℃에서 이온 이동(migration) 방지는 ESCA에 의해서 특징분석됨).
본 발명에서, 부동태화란, 일반적으로 가요성 기판층이 광전지 내에서 CIGS층과의 바람직하지 않은 상호작용으로부터 방지되는 것을 의미한다. 예를 들어, 본 발명의 부동태화층은 (1) 스테인레스강 또는 다른 가요성 기판에 의한 CIGS층의 이온 오염을 방지하고; (2) 가요성 기판의 표면에서 불규칙성을 완화하는 작용을 한다.
이 방법은 배치식 또는 연속식 방법, 예를 들어 롤-투-롤 방법으로 수행할 수 있다.
중합체 기판
일 실시양태에서, 본 발명은 가요성 중합체 기판의 표면 상에 유리층 또는 유리 전구체층을 침착시키는 방법이다. 본 발명의 실시에 적합한 중합체 기판은 중합체 쇄를 실질적으로 분해시키지 않거나, 유리/중합체 다층 용품의 의도되는 용도를 위해서 중합체의 바람직한 특성 및/또는 요구되는 특성을 상당히 저하시키지 않으면서, 250℃를 초과하는 온도에서 가공될 수 있는 열가소성 또는 열경화성 중합체이다. 예를 들면, 폴리에스테르 중합체, 예컨대 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트 (PET) 중합체가 적합할 수 있고; 폴리이미드 중합체가 본 발명의 실시에 유용할 수 있다. 중합체 기판의 다른 영역에서 중합체의 분해를 방지하기 위해서, 유리층 또는 유리 전구체층과 접촉할 특정 중합체의 표면만을 가열하는 것이 필요할 수 있다. 임의로는, 충전된 중합체가 본 발명의 실시에서 사용하기에 적합할 수 있다. 본 명세서에서 유용한 충전제는 본 기술 분야에서 공지되고, 통상적이며, 공정 조건, 특히 본 명세서에서 사용되는 공정 온도를 견딜 수 있는 임의의 것이다. 예를 들어, 유리 및 탈크가 가요성 중합체 기판에서 적합한 충전제일 수 있다. 본 명세서에서 유용한 충전제의 양은 본 발명의 가요성 중합체 기판의 유용한 특성을 손상시키는 양이 아니어야 하고, 본 기술 분야의 숙련인은 보통의 실험을 통해서 또는 종래의 지식으로부터 알 수 있다.
유리 전구체층
본 발명의 일 양태에서, 기판을 유리 전구체층으로 코팅한 후, 유리 전구체층을 건조하고, 소성하여 가요성 기판 상에 유리층을 형성하는 단계가 이어진다. 하기에 기재된 바와 같이, 유리층의 두께는 소성 전에 코팅-건조 사이클을 수회 수행하거나 또는 코팅-건조-소성 사이클을 수회 수행함으로써 증가될 수 있다.
유리층은 가요성 기판의 표면을 전체적으로 또는 부분적으로 유리 전구체 조성물로 코팅함으로써 헝성된다. 전구체 조성물은 (1) 적어도 하나의 용매 중에 용해되는 규소 형태; (2) 알루미늄 화합물; (3) 붕소-함유 화합물; (4) 나트륨 염, 및 임의로는 (5) 칼륨 염을 포함할 수 있다.
규소의 용해성 형태는 예를 들어, 규소 테트라아세테이트, 규소 테트라프로피오네이트, 비스(아세틸아세토네이토) 비스(아세테이토) 규소, 비스(2-메톡시에톡시) 비스(아세테이토) 규소, 비스(아세틸아세토네이토) 비스(에톡시) 규소, 테트라메틸오르토실리케이트, 테트라에틸오르토실리케이트, 테트라아이소프로필오르토실리케이트, 또는 이들의 혼합물일 수 있다.
알루미늄 화합물은 예를 들어 트리스(아세틸아세토네이토) 알루미늄, 알루미늄 메톡사이드, 알루미늄 에톡사이드, 알루미늄 아이소프로폭사이드, 알루미늄 n-프로폭사이드, 또는 이들의 혼합물일 수 있고, 이들뿐만 아니라 트라이알킬보레이트 (예를 들어, 트라이메틸보레이트, 트라이에틸보레이트, 트라이프로필보레이트, 트라이메톡시보르옥신, 또는 이들의 혼합물이 첨가된다.

유리 전구체 조성물을 형성하기 위해서, 용해성 규소를 용매, 예를 들어 (1) C1-C10 알코올 (예를 들어 메탄올, 에탄올, 1-프로판올, 2-프로판올, 1-부탄올, 2-부탄올, 1-부탄올의 이성질체, 1-펜탄올, 2-펜탄올, 3-펜탄올, 1-펜탄올의 이성질체, 1-헥산올, 2-헥산올, 3-헥산올, 1-헥산올의 이성질체, 1-헵탄올, 1-헵탄올의 이성질체, 또는 이들의 혼합물); (2) 산 (예를 들어, 아세트산, 프로피온산, 염산, 질산, 황산, 또는 이들의 혼합물) 및 (3) 물에 용해시켜 용해된 규소 용액의 용액을 수득할 수 있다. 물은 규소에 대해서 0 내지 4 몰 당량의 양으로 포함될 수 있다. 최소량의 용매를 사용할 수 있으며, 단 그 양은 성분의 용액을 형성하기에 충분하고 효과적이어야 한다.
나트륨 염을 초기 규소 용액을 제조하는데 사용되는 것과 동일한 C1-C10 알코올 중에 용해시키고, 규소 용액에 첨가할 수 있다. 일부 실시양태에서, 스테인레스강 기판을 코팅하기 전에, 유리 전구체 제제를 여과한다. 일부 실시양태에서, 제제 중의 유리 전구체의 조성은 성분비가 약 100 (Si) 대 45 (B) 대 26 (Na) 대 3 (Al)이다.

유리층은 임의로는 리튬, 마그네슘, 칼륨, 칼슘, 바륨, 납, 게르마늄, 주석, 안티몬, 비스무트 또는 임의의 란탄족 원소의 산화물을 포함할 수 있다. 임의로는, 보로실리케이트 유리 나노입자를 제제에 첨가할 수 있다.
유리 전구체 조성물의 코팅을 가요성 기판 상에 침착시키는 것은 바-코팅, 분무-코팅, 침지-코팅, 마이크로그라비어(microgravure) 코팅, 또는 슬롯-다이(slot-die) 코팅을 비롯한 임의의 공지된 수단 및/또는 종래의 수단에 의해서 수행할 수 있다. 본 기술 분야의 숙련인은 임의의 종래의 코팅 수단의 이점 및/단점을 인식하고 있을 것이고, 고려 사항 하에서 공정 파라미터의 상세 사항을 기준으로 적절한 코팅 방법을 선택할 수 있다.
일 실시양태에서, 유리 전구체층을 두께가 10 ㎚ 내지 1 ㎝인 중합체 기판층의 표면의 적어도 일부 상에 직접 배치시킬 수 있고, 여기서, 유리 전구체층과 중합체 기판의 표면 사이에는 어떤 중간층도 배치되지 않는다. 유리 전구체층을 매우 짧은 기간 동안, 예를 들어 30초 미만 동안 가열하여 유리층과 직접 접촉하는 중합체 표면을 효과적으로 가열할 수 있고, 본 명세서에서 이러한 방법을 플래쉬 가열로서 정의한다. 본 명세서에서 실시되는 바와 같은 플래쉬 가열 방법에서, 중합체 표면을 약 250℃ 내지 약 400℃의 온도로 약 30초 미만의 기간 동안, 대안적으로는 1초 미만의 기간 동안, 대안적으로는 5밀리초 (5000마이크로초) 미만 동안, 또는 대안적으로는 약 1밀리초(1000 마이크로초)미만 동안 가열한다. 유리 기판을 플래쉬 가열에 수회 노출시키는 것이 본 발명의 방법에서 고려된다.
유리층을 플래쉬 가열에 노출시키는 기간 및 횟수는 열원에 의해서 생성되는 에너지 및 소정의 조건 세트에서 유리를 중합체 기판에 결합시키는 효율성을 비롯한 다수의 공정 조건에 좌우될 수 있다. 중합체의 파괴는 임의의 조건 세트 하에서 회피된다.
유리 전구체 조성물을 가요성 기판 상에 코팅한 후, 전구체를 전형적으로 100 내지 150℃에서 공기 중에서 건조하여 용매를 제거한다. 일부 실시양태에서, 이어서, 건조된 유리 전구체층을 공기 또는 산소-함유 분위기 내에서 250 내지 800℃에서 소성시켜 유리 전구체층을 소성된 유리층으로 전환시킨다. "소성"이란, 유리 전구체층을 산화 분위기에서 전구체의 분해 온도를 초과하게 가열하여
1) 코팅가능한 용액 중에서 유리 전구체를 용해시키는데 사용되는 임의의 유기 리간드를 제거하고;
2) 용액의 규소, 알루미늄, 붕소 및 나트륨 성분을 이들 각각의 산화물 형태로 산화시키고;
3) 얇은 조밀한 유리 필름을 기판 상에 형성하는 것을 의미한다.
(1) 유리 전구체를 기판의 표면 상에 침착시키고 (코팅), (2) 건조한 후 소성시키는 부가적인 사이클을 수행함으로써 소성된 유리층의 두께를 증가시키는 것이 또한 바람직할 수 있다.
바람직한 유리층의 두께, 및 바람직한 두께를 수득하는데 필요한 반복 횟수에 따라서, (1) 코팅 후 (2) 건조의 사이클을 수회 반복할 수 있다. 전형적으로, 코팅/건조 사이클을 2 내지 5회 반복하여 바람직한 두께를 수득할 수 있다.
소성된 유리층의 두께는 약 1 ㎚ 내지 수 마이크로미터의 두께일 수 있다. 특정 실시양태에서, 소성된 유리층의 두께는 약 10 ㎚ 내지 수 마이크로미터 범위의 두께일 수 있다. 일부 용도 -- 예를 들어, 광전지에서 사용되는 경우 --에서, 소성된 유리층의 두께를 약 10 ㎚ 내지 약 수 마이크로미터, 또는 약 25 ㎚ 내지 약 10 마이크로미터, 또는 약 50 ㎚ 내지 약 5 마이크로미터, 또는 약 3 마이크로미터 미만의 범위로 감소시킴으로써 소성된 유리층의 가요성을 증가시키는 것이 바람직할 수 있다. 그러나, 가요성을 위한 바람직한 두께는 용용분야, 조성, 또는 다른 인자에 좌우될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 일부 응용분야에서, 유리층 내의 핀홀이 바람직할 수 있고, 따라서 핀홀을 허용하도록 유리층의 두께를 감소시키는 것이 바람직할 수 있다. 다른 응용분야에서, 두께는 최적의 절연을 제공하도록, 따라서 유리층 내에 최소의 핀홀을 제공하도록 증가될 수 있다. 임의의 측면에서, 본 발명의 목적은 유리층에 가요성을 제공하여, 일반적인 취급으로는 유리 내에 균열이 생성되지 않도록 하는 것이다. 심지어는 현미경으로만 관찰될 때 조차도, 균열은 바람직하지 않다. 유리층 내에서 균열을 회피하기 위해서, 유리층에 대한 두께 상한은 약 5 마이크로미터, 또는 약 4 마이크로미터, 또는 약 3 마이크로미터에 이를 수 있다.

일부 실시양태에서, 코팅 단계 전에, 물을 전구체 혼합물에 첨가한다. 이것은 유리 전구체 조성물의 점도를 증가시켜서, 단회의 코팅 및 건조 사이클로 50 ㎚ 내지 2 마이크로미터 두께의 유리층을 형성하는 것을 용이하게 한다.
소성 단계(들) 및 건조 단계(들) 모두는 전형적으로 유리 전구체의 완전한 산화를 보장하기 위해서 공기 중에서 수행한다. 유리층 내의 탄소 원소, 카르보네이트 중간체 또는 환원된 금속 산화물의 존재는 절연층의 항복 전압(breakdown voltage)을 낮출 수 있다.
소성 후, 유리층은 전형적으로 70 중량% 초과의 실리카; 10 중량% 미만의 알루미나; 5 내지 15 중량%의 붕소 산화물; 및 10 중량% 미만의 나트륨 및/또는 칼륨의 산화물을 포함한다. 일 실시양태에서, 소성된 유리층은 약 81 중량%의 SiO2, 약 13 중량%의 B2O3, 약 1% 내지 약 4 중량% 이하의 Na2O, 및 약 2 중량%의 Al2O3를 포함한다.
일부 실시양태에서, 유리 전구체 조성물은 Mo 및 CIGS (또는 CZTS-Se)층 상의 응력을 감소시키고, 필름 컬링을 감소시키기 위해서, Mo 및 CIGS (또는 CZTS-Se)층의 선열팽창 계수(coefficients of linear thermal expansion) (CTE)와 비슷한 선열팽창 계수를 유리층에 제공하도록 선택된다. 일부 실시양태에서, 보로실리케이트 유리의 CTE는 약 3.25 × 10-6/℃여서, Mo층의 CTE (약 4.8 × 10-6/℃) 및 CIGS층의 CTE (약 9 × 10-6/℃)에 잘 맞는다.
본 발명의 일 실시양태는
a) 가요성 중합체 기판;
b) 가요성 중합체 기판의 적어도 일부 상에 직접 배치된 유리층을 포함하는 다층 용품이며, 여기서, 유리층은 SiO2, Al2O3, Na2O, B2O3, 및 임의로는 Li2O, BeO, BaO, MgO, K2O, CaO, MnO, NiO, SrO, FeO, Fe2O3, CuO, Cu2O, CoO, ZnO, PbO, GeO4, SnO2, Sb2O3, Bi2O3, 및 란탄족 금속의 임의의 산화물로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 산화물을 포함한다.
가요성 중합체 기판 및 유리층은 상기에 설명된 바와 같다.
이러한 다층 용품은 예를 들어 유기 발광 다이오드 디스플레이 응용분야, 백색 유기 발광 다이오드(white light organic light emitting diode) 응용분야, 광발전(photovoltaic) 응용분야와 같은 전자 장치의 제조를 위한 기판으로서 사용될 수 있다. 이러한 다층 용품은 또한 의료 장치, 예컨대 심장 밸브에서 사용될 수 있다.

이러한 다층 용품은 예를 들어, 광전지에서 사용될 수 있다.
적합한 전도성층은 금속, 산화물-도핑 금속, 금속 산화물, 유기 전도체, 및 이들의 조합으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 재료를 포함한다. 전도성 금속층은 증착 방법 또는 무전해 도금(electroless plating)을 통해서 유리층 상에 침착될 수 있다. 적합한 금속에는 Mo, Ni, Cu, Ag, Au, Rh, Pd 및 Pt가 포함된다. 전도성 금속층은 전형적으로 200 ㎚ 내지 1 마이크로미터 두께이다. 일 실시양태에서, 전도성 재료는 몰리브덴 산화물-도핑 몰리브덴이다.
일부 실시양태에서, 다층 용품은 유기 작용성층(organic functional layer), 예를 들어, 유기 전도체, 예컨대 폴리아닐린 및 폴리티오펜을 포함한다. 이러한 실시양태에서, 유기 작용성층을 침착시킨 후, 다층 용품을 일반적으로 450℃, 또는 400℃, 또는 350℃, 또는 300℃, 또는 250℃, 또는 200℃, 또는 150℃, 또는 100℃ 초과의 온도로 가열하지 않는다.
적합한 광활성층에는 CIS (카드뮴-인듐-셀렌화물), CIGS, 및 CZTS-Se가 포함된다.
CIGS 및 CIS층은 구리, 인듐 및 임의로는 갈륨을 순차적으로 또는 동시에 증발시키거나 또는 스퍼터링(sputtering)시킨 후, 생성된 필름을 셀레늄 증기와 반응시켜서 형성될 수 있다. 대안적으로는, 잉크 중의 금속 산화물 입자의 현탁액을 스크린 인쇄 및 잉크 젯 인쇄를 비롯한 매우 다양한 인쇄 방법을 사용하여 전도성층 상에 참착시킬 수 있다. 이것은 다공성 필름을 생성하고, 이후에 이것을 열적 공정에서 조밀화하고, 환원하여 CIGS 또는 CIS층을 형성한다. 상기에 기재된 이러한 방법은 본 기술 분야에 공지되어 있고, 통상적인 것이다. 사실, 임의의 공지된 방법 또는 종래의 방법을 사용하여 CIGS 또는 CIS층을 형성할 수 있다.
CZTS-Se 박막은 열적 증발, 스퍼터링, 하이브리드 스퍼터링, 펄스 레이저 침착, 전자 빔 증발, 광화학적 침착 및 전기화학적 침착을 비롯한 몇가지 방법에 의해서 제조될 수 있다. 또한 CZTS 박막은 황 공급원으로서 티오우레아를 사용하여 금속 염, 전형적으로 CuCl, ZnCl2 및 SnCl4를 함유하는 용액의 분무 열분해에 의해 제조될 수 있다.
CdS층은 예를 들어 화학적 조(bath) 침착에 의해서 침착될 수 있다. 공지되고/되거나 종래의 다른 수단을 사용할 수 있다.
적합한 투명한 전도성 산화물층, 예컨대 도핑 아연 산화물 또는 인듐 주석 산화물을 예를 들어 스퍼터링 또는 펄스 층 침착에 의해서 CdS층 상에 침착시킬 수 있다. 본 기술 분야의 숙련인에게 공지되고/거나 종래의 다른 방법을 사용할 수 있다.

클린 룸(clean room) 환경 (클래스(class) 100) 내에서, 세척된 폴리이미드 기판을 실온에서 켐인스트루먼트(Cheminstrument)® 모터라이즈드 드로다운 코팅기(motorized drawdown coater) 상에서 #40 바(bar)를 사용하여 여과된 유리 전구체 제제 0.1 ml로 로드(rod)-코팅하였다. 이어서, 코팅된 샘플을 실온에서 30초 동안 건조하고, 이어서 150℃에서 2분 동안 건조하였다.
바람직한 두께가 수득될 때까지, 드로다운 코팅 및 건조 사이클을 동일한 조건 하에서 반복하였다.
이어서, 최종층을 10℃/s의 상승(ramp) 속도에서 400℃로 2분 동안 소성시켰다.
상부 코팅된 표면 상의 유리 조성을 측정하기 위해서 ESCA에 의해서 유리 코팅 일체성(integrity)을 특징분석하였다.

이어서, 노바센트릭스(NovaCentrix)®에 의해서 개발된 펄스포지(PulseForge) 3300 장비를 사용하여, 샘플을 200 ㎚ 내지 1000 ㎚의 넓은 파장 광 스펙트럼 51% 내지 100% 범위의 상이한 4종류의 상대량에서 1000 마이크로초 펄스 길이에 노출시켜서, 코팅된 기판의 전체 특성에 해를 입히지 않으면서 폴리이미드 기판 상의 유리 필름을 경화시켰다. 코팅된 필름을 100 kW/㎠를 초과하는 피크 전력에 1000 마이크로초 펄스 동안 노출시켰고, 이것은 폴리이미드 기판 상에 유리를 형성하기에 충분하였다. 최종 코팅을 ESCA로 분석하여, 코팅의 화학적 조성을 측정하였으며, 이것은 노출된 상부 표면 상의 나트륨 알루미노보로실리케이트 유리 조성물을 나타내었다.
Claims (10)
- a) 가요성(flexible) 중합체 기판층;
b) 가요성 중합체 기판층의 표면의 적어도 일부 상에 직접 배치된 유리층을 포함하며, 여기서, 유리층과 가요성 중합체 기판의 표면 사이에는 어떤 중간층(intervening layer)도 배치되지 않고, 유리층은 SiO2, Al2O3, Na2O, B2O3 및 임의로는, 금속 산화물을 포함하는 다층 용품. - 제1항에 있어서, 중합체 기판은 폴리이미드 중합체 또는 폴리에스테르 중합체인 용품.
- 제1항에 있어서, 중합체 기판은 충전제를 포함하는 용품.
- 제3항에 있어서, 중합체 기판은 폴리이미드인 용품.
- 제4항에 있어서, 충전제는 유리 또는 탈크인 용품.
- 제5항에 있어서, 충전제는 탈크인 용품.
- 1) 두께가 10 ㎚ 내지 1 ㎝인 중합체 기판층의 표면의 적어도 일부 상에 직접 배치된 유리 전구체층을 침착시키는 단계 - 여기서, 유리 전구체층과 중합체 기판의 표면 사이에는 어떤 중간층도 배치되지 않고, 유리 전구체층은 SiO2 전구체, Al2O3 전구체, Na2O 전구체, B2O3 전구체 및 임의로는, 금속 산화물 전구체를 포함함 -, 및
b) 두께가 약 10 ㎚ 내지 약 5 마이크로미터인 유리 전구체층을 광원을 사용하여 30초 미만의 기간 동안 플래쉬(flash) 가열하는 단계 - 여기서, 유리 전구체층의 가열은 중합체 표면을 국지적으로 가열하고, 중합체 표면은 적어도 약 30초 미만의 기간 동안 약 250℃ 내지 약 400℃의 온도로 가열됨 -를 포함하는 다층 용품의 제조 방법. - 제7항에 있어서, 중합체 기판은 폴리이미드 중합체인 방법.
