Claims (20)
- 대기압에서의 사용을 위한, 공기로부터 산소를 분리시키고 산소를 공급하는 장치로서,(a) 기체를 수용하는 용기;(b) 대기로부터 상기 용기로 이어지는 주위 공기 유입 통로를 포함하는 주위 공기 입력 장치;(c) 공기로부터 산소를 직접 응축시키기 위해 용기 내에 냉각 표면을 구비하고, 용기내의 공기로부터 산소를 응축시키기 위해 상기 냉각 표면을 질소의 비등점 온도 초과 내지 산소의 비등점 온도 이하의 온도로 냉각하기 위한 제어 시스템을 구비한 극저온 냉각기 (cryocooler);(d) 냉각 표면으로부터 배수된 액체 산소를 수용하고, 용기 내에 남아있는 잔류 기체로부터 액체를 분리하도록 용기에 연결된 액체/기체 분리기;(e) 용기로부터 산소를 제거하기 위해 분리기의 액체 출력 장치에 연결된 산소 유출 통로를 포함하는 산소 출력 장치;(f) 사실상 대기압에서 용기로부터 잔류 기체를 배출시키기 위해 분리기로부터 기체 출력 장치에 연결된 잔류 기체 유출 통로를 포함하는 잔류 기체 출력 장치;(g) 주위 공기 유입 통로, 잔류 기체 통로 및 상기 용기를 통해 공기를 추진하고, 1 bar 미만의 압력 구배를 형성시키는 공기 임펠러; 및(h) 제 1 통로 내의 기체로부터 제 2 통로 내의 기체로 열을 전도시키기 위한 기체 불투과성의 열 전도성 벽에 의해 분리된, 2개 이상의 통로를 구비한 열 교환기를 포함하며,유입되는 공기로부터의 열을 유출되는 잔류 기체로 전달시키기 위해 열 교환기의 상기 제 1 통로가 공기 입력 통로 중에 연결되고, 상기 제 2 통로가 잔류 기체 유출 통로 중에 연결되는 장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 열 교환기가 역류형 (counter flow) 열 교환기로서 연결되는 장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 열 교환기에서의 열 전달에 의해 유입되는 공기로부터 응축된 임의의 물을 상기 유입 공기로부터 분리시키기 위한, 주위 공기 입력 장치 내의 액체/기체 분리기를 추가로 포함하는 장치.
- 제 2항에 있어서, 열 교환기가, 기체 불투과성의 열 전도성 벽에 의해 제 1 통로로부터 분리되고 불투과성 벽에 의해 제 2 통로로부터 분리되는 제 3 통로를 추가로 포함하며, 열 교환기의 상기 제 3 통로가 열을 유입되는 주위 공기로부터 유출되는 산소로 전도하기 위해 산소 유출 통로 중에 연결되는 장치.
- 제 4항에 있어서, 열 교환기가 역류형 열 교환기로서 연결되는 장치.
- 제 5항에 있어서, 압력 구배가 1 psi 미만인 장치.
- 제 6항에 있어서, 압력 구배가 사실상 0.33 psi 이하인 장치.
- 제 1항 내지 제 7항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 주위 공기 유입 통로 내에서 응축된 물을 배수시키기 위해 열 교환기의 제 1 통로와 소통되도록 연결된 수 통로를 추가로 포함하는 장치.
- 제 8항에 있어서, 수 통로가, 물을 유출되는 기체로 복귀시키기 위해 유출 통로 중 한 통로에 연결되는 장치.
- 제 8항에 있어서, 온도 센서 및 히터가 수 통로 또는 열 교환기에 연결되고, 물의 온도가 물의 동결 온도를 초과하는 온도로 유지되도록 히터 제어 시스템에 연결되는 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 7항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 극저온 냉각기가 자유 피스톤 스터링 (Stirling) 극저온 냉각기인 장치.
- 제 8항에 있어서, 극저온 냉각기가 사실상 2 킬로와트 (kilowatts) 이하의 전력을 지니는 장치.
- 공기로부터 산소를 직접 응축시키고 분리하는 방법으로서,(a) 수용 용기 내의 표면을, 질소의 비등점 온도 초과 내지 산소의 비등점 온도 이하의 온도로 냉각시키는 단계;(b) 대기로부터의 기체를 용기 내로, 용기의 표면에 대해, 그리고 이 용기 밖으로 추진시키는 데, 추진된 기체의 압력이 주위 대기압을 1 bar 미만으로 상회하도록 추진하는 단계;(c) 냉각 표면으로부터 낙하하는 응축된 산소 점적을 회수하고 용기 내의 기체로부터 산소를 분리시키는 단계; 및(d) 유입되는 공기로부터의 열을 용기로부터 외측으로 흘러나가는 미응축된 기체로 전달시킴으로써, 유입되는 공기를 냉각시키고 유입되는 공기 중의 물을 응축시키는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제 13항에 있어서, 유입되는 공기로부터의 열을 분리된 산소로 전달시킴에 의해, 유입되는 공기를 냉각시키고 유입되는 공기 중의 물을 응축시키는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 방법.
- 제 13항에 있어서, 용기로부터 외측으로 흐르는 기체로부터의 열을 전달시키기 전에, 응축된 물로부터의 열을 유입되는 공기로 전달시킴으로써, 유입되는 공기 를 냉각시키는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 방법.
- 제 13항에 있어서, 냉각 표면으로부터 흡수된 열을 수용 용기로부터 배출된 기체로 전달시키는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 방법.
- 제 13항에 있어서, 응축된 물을 용기로부터 배출된 산소 중으로 증발시키는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 방법.
- 제 13항에 있어서, 물의 동결을 방지하기 위해 응축된 물에 충분한 열을 적용하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 방법.
- 제 13항에 있어서, 추진된 기체의 압력이 1 psi 미만인 방법.
- 제 13항에 있어서, 추진된 기체의 압력이 사실상 0.33 psi 이하인 방법.
