Claims (15)
- 멀티캐스팅 망(multicasting network)을 통하여 미디어 클라이언트에 미디어 선택재(media selection)를 전달하기 위한 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템(distributed media delivery system)에 있어서,상기 망을 통하여 접속가능한 다수의 미디어 푸쉬 엔진(media push engine);모든 컴포넌트보다 적은 수의 컴포넌트로부터 복원된 스트림(reconstructed stream)으로 재구성될 수 있는 서브스트림 컴포넌트의 비계층적 셋(non-hierarchial set)의 형태로 스트리밍 데이터(streaming data)를 저장하도록 되어 있는 미디어 스토리지 유닛(media storage unit); 그리고,상기 망을 통하여 접속가능하며, 상기 미디어 푸쉬 엔진 각각에 의해 전달되는 미디어 선택재의 아이덴터티(identity)를 저장하기 위한 카탈로그(catalog)를 포함하는 허용 제어 시스템(admission control system);을 구비하며,상기 스트리밍 데이터는 전달가능한 상기 미디어 선택재를 나타내고, 상기 미디어 푸쉬 엔진은 각각 상기 스트리밍 데이터를 저장하기 위한, 관련된 상기 미디어 스토리지 유닛을 구비하며,상기 허용 제어 시스템은 미디어 클라이언트로부터의 소정의 미디어 선택재에 대한 요청에 응답하여 상기 미디어 클라이언트 간의 멀티캐스트 그룹 세션을 개시하도록 동작하고, 상기 미디어 푸쉬 엔진의 적어도 일부는 전달가능한 상기 소정의 미디어 선택재를 구비함으로써,상기 미디어 클라이언트에 상기 소정의 미디어 선택재를 전달하거나 상기 미디어 클라이언트에 의해 상기 소정의 미디어 선택재를 재구성할 수 있도록 멀티캐스트 그룹 세션에 참가한 상기 미디어 푸쉬 엔진이 각각 상기 소정의 미디어 선택재에 해당하는 서브스트림 컴포넌트를 상기 망에 공급하는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 허용 제어 시스템은 적어도 일부분이 상기 미디어 푸쉬 엔진 간의 상호작용에 의해 정의되는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 미디어 푸쉬 엔진이 다른 통신 경로(communication path)를 통하여 상기 망과 통신하는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 망은 베스트 에포트 전달 서비스(best effort delivery service)를 제공하는 비연결망(connectionless network)인 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 망은 인터넷(Internet)인 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 멀티캐스트 그룹 세션에 참가한 상기 미디어 클라이언트와 상기 미디어 푸쉬 엔진은 데이터 전송용 실시간 전송 프로토콜(Real-Time Transport Protocol, RTP)을 채용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 멀티캐스트 그룹 세션에 참가한 상기 미디어 클라이언트와 상기 미디어 푸쉬 엔진은 세션 관리(session management)용 실시간 제어 프로토콜(Real-Time Control Protocol, RTCP)을 채용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 1항에 있어서,적어도 상기 서브스트림 컴포넌트의 일부가 다수의 미디어 푸쉬 엔진 간에 반복되는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 1항에 있어서,적어도 상기 서브스트림 컴포넌트의 일부가 제 1 및 제 2의 미디어 푸쉬 엔진 간에 반복되고, 상기 전달 시스템이 상기 멀티캐스트 그룹 세션에 참여한 상기 제 1 및 제 2의 미디어 푸쉬 엔진 중 하나를 정체(congestion)의 원인으로 확인하고 자동적으로 상기 제 1 및 제 2의 미디어 푸쉬 엔진 중 다른 하나를 호출하는 정체 통제 시스템(congestion handling system)을 더욱더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 9항에 있어서,상기 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템이 상기 미디어 클라이언트와 결합되어 있고, 서브스트림 컴포넌트를 재구성 전에 저장하기 위한 데이터 버퍼 시스템(data buffering system)을 더욱더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 허용 제어 유닛은 멀티캐스트 그룹 세션을 종료하라는 상기 미디어 클라이언트로부터의 요청(request)에 응답하여 상기 멀티캐스트 그룹 세션에 참가한 모든 미디어 푸쉬 엔진에게 상기 세션을 종료할 것을 지시하도록 동작하는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 허용 제어 시스템은 멀티캐스트 그룹 세션을 호출할 때 사용하기 위한 멀티캐스트 세션 어드레스의 풀(pool)을 유지하는 허용 제어 유닛을 포함하고, 상기 허용 제어 유닛은 상기 멀티캐스트 그룹 세션에 의해 사용될 수 있도록 상기 풀로부터 선택된 소정의 멀티캐스트 세션 어드레스를 할당하는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 12항에 있어서,상기 허용 제어 유닛은 멀티캐스트 그룹 세션을 종료하라는 상기 미디어 클라이언트로부터의 요청에 응답하여 상기 소정의 멀티캐스트 세션 어드레스를 상기 풀에 되돌리도록 동작하는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 12항에 있어서,상기 멀티캐스트 그룹 세션에 참여한 상기 미디어 클라이언트와 상기 미디어 푸쉬 엔진이 상기 허용 제어 유닛의 관여없이 흐름 제어 메시지(flow control message)를 교환하는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 멀티캐스트 그룹 세션에 참여한 상기 미디어 클라이언트와 모든 미디어 푸쉬 엔진 사이에 실시간 스트림 컴포넌트 데이터(real-time stream component data)를 포함하는 데이터그램의 유니캐스트 흐름(unicast flow)이 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 분배형 미디어 전달 시스템.
