배경

상세한 설명
본 개시내용의 실시양태는 접착 촉진제 코팅에 관한 것이다. 더 특히, 실시양태는 이오노머 중간층과 코팅을 갖는 기재 사이의 접착을 촉진하는 접착 촉진제 코팅에 관한 것이다. 코팅된 기재 및 이오노머 중간층은 라미네이트를 형성할 수 있다.

코팅된 기재를 포함하는 라미네이트
상기에 기술된, 코팅된 기재(10)는 라미네이트(50)의 일부를 형성하는 데 사용될 수 있다. 도 2a-4를 참조하자면, 라미네이트(50)는 적어도 하나의 기재(20), 적어도 하나의 코팅(30), 및 적어도 하나의 이오노머 층(40)을 포함한다.

한 예에서, 이오노머는, 약 14-24 중량%의 산 및 약 76-86 중량%의 에틸렌을 함유하고 나트륨 이온과 같은 금속 이온으로 중화된 약 10-80%의 산을 갖는, 에틸렌과 메타크릴산 또는 아크릴산의 중합체의 수 불용성 염이다.
정전기력은 중합체 매트릭스에 분산된 나노미터-크기의 이온-풍부 응집체가 생성될 정도로 이오노머의 이온 기의 회합을 초래할 수 있다. 결정화 가능한 이오노머의 모폴로지는 이온성 응집체, 에틸렌 결정, 및 비결정성 카르복실산 세그먼트를 포함할 수 있다. 이오노머의 온도가 상승함에 따라 회합 및 응집은 저감될 수 있다.

본 개시내용은 이오노머 층(40)이 도포되지 않거나 낮은 접착 수준으로 도포된 것인 종래의 라미네이트와는 상이하다. 플로트 유리 기재(20)를 포함하는 전형적인 라미네이트에 있어서, 이오노머 층(40)은 플로트 유리의 공기측 면(22a)에 도포되지 않거나 낮은 접착 수준으로 도포된다. 유사하게, 전형적인 라미네이트에 있어서, 플로트 유리의 주석측 면(22b)에 대한 이오노머 층(40)의 접착은 일반적으로 산업 표준을 충족하지만, 접착 수준이 불균일할 수 있다. 본원에 개시된 바와 같이, 본 발명자들은 접착 촉진제를 포함하는 코팅(30)을 기재(20)의 어느 하나의 면 또는 양면(22a, 22b) (총칭하여, 22)에 도포하면 각각의 공기측 면(22a) 및 주석측 면(22b)에 대한 이오노머 층(40)의 접착이 개선된다는 것을 발견하였다. 일부 구현양태에서, 접착 촉진제를 포함하는 코팅(30)을 기재(20)에 도포하면, 코팅(30) 없이 제조된 라미네이트에 비해, 더 균일한 접착 수준이 달성된다. 일부 구현양태에서, 현재의 기술과는 달리, 코팅된 기재(10)의 공기측 면(22a)에 대한 이오노머 층(40)의 접착은 코팅된 기재(10)의 주석측 면(22b)에 대한 이오노머 층의 접착보다 더 강하다.
접착 촉진제를 포함하는 코팅(30)을 기재(20)에 도포하면, 이오노머 층(40)과 기재(20) 사이의 접착 결합이 약화되는 것이 저감 또는 방지되며, 라미네이트(50)의 층분리가 저감 또는 방지된다. 코팅된 기재(10)는, 코팅되지 않은 기재(20)가 이오노머 층(40)에 접착되는 경우에 비해, 동일한 이오노머 층(40)에 더 잘 접착되며, 즉, 더 높은 접착 수준을 갖는다. 개선된 접착 수준은 예를 들어 습하거나 습윤한 조건에서 장기간 사용 후에 및 연수 또는 해수에 노출된 후에 관찰될 수 있다.
코팅되지 않은 기재의 라미네이트에 비해, 코팅된 기재(10)를 포함하는 라미네이트(50)는 개선된 박리 강도, 개선된 펌멜(pummel) 성능, 개선된 주기적 바람 압력 부하 성능, 허리케인급 바람을 포함하는 강한 바람에 대한 개선된 내성, 및 개선된 총알 내성 성능 중 하나 이상을 나타낼 수 있다.
접착 촉진제를 포함하는 코팅(30)을 기재(20)에 도포하면, 코팅(30)을 갖지 않는 라미네이트의 제조에 비해, 더 큰 라미네이트 제조 융통성이 허용될 수 있다. 일부 예에서, 코팅(30)을 사용하면, 제조 공정 동안에 탈이온수 외의 세척수를 사용할 수 있게 된다. 예를 들어, 탈이온수 대신에 수돗물을 이용하면, 코팅된 기재(10)를 포함하지 않는 라미네이트(50)에 비해 코팅된 기재(10)를 포함하는 라미네이트(50)의 제조 비용이 저감될 수 있다. 일부 예에서, 코팅(30)을 사용하면, 코팅(30)으로 처리되지 않은 기재(10)에 비해 더 넓은 범위의 수명 및 가공 이력을 갖는 기재(10)를 사용할 수 있게 된다. 다양한 수명 및 가공 이력을 갖는 기재(10)를 이용하면, 최종 라미네이트(50)의 제조 비용이 저감될 수 있다.
라미네이트의 형성 방법
라미네이트(50)를 적어도 하기 단계를 포함하는 방법에 따라 형성할 수 있다: (1) 조립된 기재(20), 코팅(30) 및 이오노머 층(30)을 IR 방사 또는 대류 장치를 통해 제1 단시간 동안 가열하는 단계; (2) 제1 탈기를 위해 조립체를 압력 닙 롤에 통과시키는 단계; (3) 조립체를 약 60℃ 내지 약 120℃로 단시간 동안 가열하여, 이오노머 층의 가장자리를 밀봉하기에 충분한 임시 접착을 조립체에 제공하는 단계; (4) 조립체를 제2 압력 닙 롤로 통과시켜 이오노머 층의 가장자리를 추가로 밀봉하고 추가의 취급을 허용하는 단계; 및 (5) 조립체를 130℃ 내지 150℃의 온도 및 150 psig 내지 200 psig의 압력에서 약 15 내지 300 분 동안 고압 증기 멸균하는 단계. 이오노머 층-기재 계면을 탈기시키기 위한 상기 단계 (1) 내지 (4)에 대한 대안은 진공 백 및 진공 링 공정을 포함한다.
실시예
실시예 1 - 박리 강도
이오노머 중간층을 갖는 플로트 유리 기재의 라미네이트 (0.03 인치 두께)를, 90도 박리 접착 시험에서 인치-너비 스트립을 사용하여 인스트론(Instron) 5960 시리즈 이중 컬럼 기계식 시험 시스템을 사용하여 건축 산업 표준에 따라 시험하였다. TiOx 접착 촉진제 코팅으로 코팅된 플로트 유리 (하기 표 1의 샘플 ID 번호 4, 5, 7, 및 9)를, 액체 감마-아미노프로필트리에톡시실란 (APTES) 프라이머로 코팅된 비교군 플로트 유리 (샘플 ID 번호 3)뿐만 아니라, 어떤 코팅도 갖지 않는 대조군 플로트 유리 (샘플 ID 번호 1, 2, 6, 및 8)와 비교하였다. 결과는 표 1에 제시되어 있다.
대조군 라미네이트는 10-15 pli의 주석측 면 박리 강도 및 선형 인치당 0-5 파운드 (pli)의 공기측 면 박리 강도를 나타내었다. 접착 촉진제-코팅된 기재를 사용하여 제조된 라미네이트는 20-25 pli의 공기측 면 박리 강도를 나타내었다.
접착 촉진제-코팅된 기재를 사용하여 제조된 라미네이트는 접착 촉진제 없이 제조된 대조군 라미네이트 및 APTES를 사용하여 제조된 비교군 라미네이트에 비해 상당히 개선된 박리 강도를 가졌다. 접착 촉진제-코팅된 기재를 사용하여 제조된 라미네이트는 대조군 라미네이트보다 약 15배 더 큰 공기측 면 박리 강도를 가졌다. 접착 촉진제-코팅된 기재를 사용하여 제조된 라미네이트는 비교군 라미네이트보다 약 4배 더 큰 공기측 면 박리 강도를 가졌다. 에나멜을 사용한 경우에는 결과가 유사하였다.
접착 촉진제-코팅된 기재를 사용하여 제조된 라미네이트는 비교군 라미네이트보다 변동성이 적은 (표준편차가 더 낮은) 공기측 면 박리 강도를 가졌다.
접착 촉진제-코팅된 기재를 사용하여 제조된 라미네이트는 대조군 라미네이트의 주석측 면 박리 강도보다 약 1.5배 더 큰 공기측 면 박리 강도를 가졌다.
실시예 2 - 펌멜 접착
이오노머 중간층을 갖는 플로트 유리 기재의 라미네이트 (0.03 인치 두께)를, 물에 노출 후의 접착 수준을 결정하는 별도의 단계를 포함하는 변형된 사플렉스(Saflex)® 방법을 사용하여 시험하였다. TiOx 접착 촉진제 코팅으로 코팅된 플로트 유리 (하기 표 2의 샘플 ID 번호 4, 6, 및 8)를 액체 APTES 프라이머로 코팅된 비교군 플로트 유리 (샘플 ID 번호 3)뿐만 아니라 어떤 코팅도 갖지 않는 대조군 플로트 유리 (샘플 ID 번호 1, 2, 5, 및 7)와 비교하였다. 결과는 표 2에 제시되어 있다.

Claims (23)
- 코팅된 기재이며,
공기측 주표면 및 주석측 주표면을 갖는 플로트 유리를 포함하는 제1 광 투과성 기재;
제1 기재의 공기측 주표면 중 적어도 일부 상에 직접 배치되는 코팅으로서, 금속, 금속 산화물, 및 금속 질화물 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는 접착 촉진제를 포함하는, 코팅; 및
코팅과 제2 광 투과성 기재 사이에 배치된 이오노머 수지 시트 층을 포함하고,
여기서 코팅이 10 Å 내지 1000 Å의 두께를 갖는, 코팅된 기재. - 제1항에 있어서, 금속, 금속 산화물, 또는 금속 질화물이 규소, 주석, 티타늄, 아연, 산화규소, 이산화규소, 산화주석, 산화티타늄, 산화아연, 질화규소, 질화주석, 질화티타늄, 및 질화아연으로부터 선택되는, 코팅된 기재.
- 제1항에 있어서, 코팅이 100 Å 내지 180 Å의 두께를 갖는, 코팅된 기재.
- 제2항에 있어서, 코팅이 100 Å 내지 180 Å의 두께를 갖는, 코팅된 기재.

제1 기재의 적어도 공기측 주표면의 적어도 일부 상에 직접 배치되는 코팅으로서, 금속, 금속 산화물, 및 금속 질화물 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는 접착 촉진제를 포함하는, 코팅; 및
코팅 상에 직접 배치된 이오노머 층을 포함하는, 광 투과성 라미네이트. - 제10항에 있어서, 이오노머 층이 코팅과 제2 기재 사이에 배치되는, 광 투과성 라미네이트.
- 제10항에 있어서, 이오노머 층이 열가소성 중합체를 포함하는, 광 투과성 라미네이트.
- 제11항에 있어서, 이오노머 층이 열가소성 중합체를 포함하는, 광 투과성 라미네이트.
- 제10항 내지 제13항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 플로트 유리를 포함하는 제2 광 투과성 기재를 더 포함하는, 광 투과성 라미네이트.
- 제14항에 있어서, 제2 광 투과성 기재가 제2 공기측 주표면 및 제2 주석측 주표면을 포함하는, 광 투과성 라미네이트.
- 제15항에 있어서, 제2 공기측 주표면 상에 배치되는 제2 코팅을 더 포함하고, 제2 코팅은 접착 촉진제를 포함하는, 광 투과성 라미네이트.
- 기재의 코팅 방법이며,
접착 촉진제를 기재의 공기측 주표면의 적어도 일부 상에 직접 스퍼터링하는 단계로서, 기재는 플로트 유리를 포함하고 플로트 유리는 공기측 주표면 및 주석측 주표면을 포함하는, 단계; 및
이오노머 층을 코팅 상에 직접 배치하는 단계를 포함하고,
여기서 접착 촉진제가 금속, 금속 산화물, 및 금속 질화물 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는, 방법. - 제17항에 있어서, 스퍼터링은 마그네트론 스퍼터 진공 피착에 의한 것인, 방법.
