B. 생체중합체

II. 가공

"프리즘 유에스에이랩 16" 실험실 규모 이축 스크류 압출기를 이용해서 아처 다니엘스 미드랜드(Archer Daniels Midland)로부터의 훼트프로®75 활성 밀 글루텐, 에머리 올레오케미칼즈 엘엘씨(Emery Oleochemicals LLC)로부터의 에머리(Emery) 917 글리세린 99.7% USP, 코셔(Kosher), 및 시그마-알드리치(Sigma-Aldrich)로부터의 티몰 ≥99%을 용융 가공하였다. 압출기는 11 개의 상이한 대역을 함유하였지만, 대역 1 내지 5, 및 11은 이 실시예에서 이용되지 않았다. 압출기는 물질이 압출기를 용이하게 나가는 것을 허용하기 위해 0.75 인치 다이 시스템(대역 11)과 함께 이용하였다. 글루텐 및 티몰을 미리블렌딩하였고(83 중량% 글루텐 및 17 중량% 티몰), 이어서 압출기의 대역 6에 0.5 lbs/hr의 공급 속도로 첨가하였다. 이어서, 글리세린을 대역 7에 0.087 lbs/hr의 공급 속도로 첨가하여 71% 훼트프로®, 14% 글리세롤, 15% 티몰의 대략적인 조성을 제공하였다. 스크류 구성은 대역 6 및 7의 운송 요소, 대역 8 및 9의 니딩 블록 및 대역 10의 운송 요소로 이루어졌다. 스크류 속도는 50 rpm이었다. 대역 9 - 11의 온도 프로필은 70 ℃였다. 그 결과로 생성된 물질을 플라스틱 백에 함유시키고 -32 ℃에서 보관하였다. 냉각된 물질을 브릭만/레트쉬(Brickmann/Retsch) 실험실 규모 그라인딩 밀(설정 속도 = 1)에 의해 크기축소하였다. 체질하여 425 ㎛ 미만의 입자를 제거하였다. ≥ 425 ㎛ 입자를 초음파 결합에 의해서 2 장의 6 인치 x 6 인치 와이폴(Wypall)® 히드로니트(Hydroknit) X60® 시트 사이에 고정하였다. 입자의 로딩 수준은 2 장의 6 인치 x 6 인치 와이폴® 히드로니트 X60® 시트의 중량의 50 중량%였다. 입자 함유 와이프의 중량의 375 중량%의 탈이온수(DI 물)를 첨가하고, 5 분 동안 기다린 후 용액을 유리 바이알 안에 짜냈다. 약 60 분 동안 젖은 와이프가 건조하도록 두었다. 375 중량% 첨가하고, 5 분 동안 기다리고, 짜내고, 60 분 동안 건조하는 것을 반복하여 하나의 와이프로부터 총 5 개의 짜낸 샘플을 수집하였다. 짜낸 용액 중의 티몰을 고성능 액체 크로마토그래피에 의해 정량화하였다. 결과를 표 3에 나타내었다.

실시예 4
물 첨가 및 제거로 여러 번 티몰을 방출하는 와이프를 입증한다. 악조 노벨(Akzo Nobel)로부터의 스트럭처(Structure)® XL이라고 불리는 히드록시프로필 전분 포스페이트, 에머리 올레오케미칼즈 엘엘씨로부터의 에머리 917 글리세린 99.7% USP, 코셔, 및 시그마-알드리치로부터의 티몰 ≥99%를 각각 80 중량%, 15 중량% 및 5 중량%의 백분율로 키친 에이드(Kitchen Aide) 혼합기에 의해 함께 블렌딩하였다. 그 결과로 생성된 블렌드를 "프리즘 유에스에이랩 16" 실험실 규모 이축 스크류 압출기의 대역 1에 0.75 lb/hr의 공급 속도로 과소공급(starve feeding)하였다. 대역 2 - 11의 온도 프로필은 각각 85 ℃, 95 ℃, 102 ℃, 115 ℃, 128 ℃, 123 ℃, 117 ℃, 114 ℃, 104 ℃, 96 ℃였다. 스크류 속도는 200 rpm이었다. 온도 대역 11은 3 ㎜ 스트랜드 다이였다. 압출된 스트랜드를 펠렛화하고, 브릭만/레트쉬 실험실 규모 그라인딩 밀(설정 속도 = 1)에 의해 크기축소하고, 체질하여 250 - 425 μm의 크기 범위를 갖는 입자를 수집하였다. 그 결과로 생성된 입자를 초음파 결합에 의해서 2 장의 6 인치 x 6 인치 와이폴® 히드로니트 X60® 시트 사이에 고정하였다. 입자의 로딩 수준은 2 장의 6 인치 x 6 인치 와이폴® 히드로니트 X60® 시트의 중량의 50 중량%였다. 입자 함유 와이프의 중량의 375 중량%의 탈이온수(DI 물)를 첨가하고, 5 분 동안 기다린 후 용액을 유리 바이알 안에 짜냈다. 약 60 분 동안 젖은 와이프가 건조하도록 두었다. 375 중량% 첨가하고, 5 분 동안 기다리고, 짜내고, 60 분 동안 건조하는 것을 반복하여 하나의 와이프로부터 총 5 개의 짜낸 샘플을 수집하였다. 짜낸 용액 중의 티몰을 고성능 액체 크로마토그래피에 의해 정량화하였다. 결과를 표 4에 나타내었다.

Claims (13)
- 생체중합체 매트릭스가 0.1% 내지 40%의 에센셜 오일, 30% 내지 90%의 생체중합체, 및 5% 내지 50%의 담체 유체를 포함하고, 여기서 액체 용액에 노출될 때 상기 에센셜 오일의 제한된 양이 상기 매트릭스 조성물로부터 방출될 수 있고, 그 후 재사용시 액체 용액의 추가 노출로 상기 에센셜 오일의 추가의 제한된 양이 반복적으로 재방출될 수 있는, 생체중합체 매트릭스를 포함하는 조성물.
