Claims (13)
- 화상표시영역 및 화상비표시영역으로 구분되는 제 1 기판 및 제 2 기판;
상기 제 1 기판에 구비된 제 1 전극;
상기 제 1 전극이 구비된 제 1 기판 위의 제 1 인덱스 매칭층;
상기 제 1 인덱스 매칭층 위에 구비된 절연층;
상기 절연층 위의 상기 화상비표시영역에 구비된 격벽;
상기 제 2 기판 위의 제 2 인덱스 매칭층;
상기 제 2 인덱스 매칭층 위에 구비되어 상기 제 1 기판의 제 1 전극과 전계를 형성하는 제 2 전극; 및
상기 제 1 기판 및 상기 제 2 기판 사이에 배치되어 상기 제 1 전극 및 상기 제 2 전극 사이의 전계에 의해 그 배열이 변화되어 광을 스위칭 시키는 불투명한 제 1 액체 및 투명한 제 2 액체를 포함하며,
상기 제 1, 제 2 인덱스 매칭층은 투명 절연물질로 이루어져 두께 조절에 따른 굴절률의 매칭을 통해 투과율을 향상시키는 전기습윤 표시장치. - 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 액체는 비극성 블랙액체이고 상기 제 2 액체는 극성의 투명한 용액으로 구성되는 전기습윤 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 기판에 구비된 박막트랜지스터를 추가로 포함하는 전기습윤 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1, 제 2 인덱스 매칭층은 벤조싸이클로부텐(benzocyclobutene; BCB)이나 포토아크릴(photo acryl)의 유기절연물질로 이루어지거나 실리콘산화막(SiO2)이나 실리콘질화막(SiNx)의 무기절연물질로 구성되는 전기습윤 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1, 제 2 전극은 ITO(Indium Tin Oxide)나 IZO(Indium Zinc Oxide)의 투명한 도전물질로 구성되는 전기습윤 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 500Å 두께의 ITO를 상기 제 2 전극으로 이용하는 동시에 600Å ~ 1000Å 두께의 SiNx를 상기 제 2 기판의 제 2 인덱스 매칭층으로 이용하는 전기습윤 표시장치.
- 제 6 항에 있어서, 상기 제 2 기판의 제 2 인덱스 매칭층으로 1.93의 굴절률을 가지는 800Å 두께의 SiNx를 이용하는 전기습윤 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 500Å ~ 1000Å 두께의 ITO를 상기 제 2 전극으로 이용하는 동시에 600Å ~ 2000Å 두께의 SiNx를 상기 제 2 기판의 제 2 인덱스 매칭층으로 이용하는 전기습윤 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제 2 기판에 구비된 컬러필터층을 추가로 포함하는 전기습윤 표시장치.
- 제 9 항에 있어서, 상기 제 2 인덱스 매칭층은 상기 컬러필터층 위에 구비되는 전기습윤 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 기판에 구비된 컬러필터층을 추가로 포함하는 전기습윤 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 전극은 불투명한 도전물질로 구성되며, 상기 제 2 전극은 ITO나 IZO의 투명한 도전물질로 구성되는 전기습윤 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1, 제 2 인덱스 매칭층은 다층구조 혹은 나노 패턴을 포함하는 구조로 구성되는 전기습윤 표시장치.
